Hello, my name is Fiona, your midwife and course presenter. Welcome and congratulations on your pregnancy.

This course is tailoured to meet the needs of parents who want to learn about the practical elements of pregnancy, child birth, breast feeding and parenting from a supportive, pragmatic and unbiased point of view.

Antenatal classes are not just an opportunity to learn but are also a time to get excited about the arrival of your baby. You are preparing for the best day of your life.

The lead up to chldbirth should be an exciting time and an opportunity for expectant parents to learn and share new experiences.

I believe that a parent who is informed is more confident, there is nothing as important as good advice when you are expecting your first baby.

This parenting business is the most bizarre, challenging but often hilarious journey that you’ll ever take.

History

Established in 2011.

Check your insurance policy as you may be entitled to a refund from your health insurance provider.

The group antenatal cost is 120 Euro.

The One to One private antenatal class cost is 150 Euro per couple.

Both classes include refreshments and a fully comprehensive information pack.

These classes are presented by a fully qualified and registered midwife.

The private One to One antenatal class is held at Weston Park, Lucan, Co. Dublin.

The group antenatal class is held at The Courtyard Hotel, Main St., Leixlip, Co. Kildare.

Refresher antenatal classes for second time mums are held at Weston Park, Lucan, Co. Dublin.

About Midwife Fiona

I have over 25yrs’ experience as a practising midwife both in the U.K. and Ireland. I am currently employed in one of Dublin’s busy maternity hospitals and therefore am up to date in all aspects of maternity care.

I am fully registered as a nurse and midwife with An Bord Altranais. I am also a qualified hypno birthing instructor.
