History
Established in 1998.
Deegagh Point Shellfish was set up in 1998 as a limited business by Joan Mary Slater and John William Slater. The registered office is at «Delphin Hill», Lough Road, Milford Co. Donegal, Ireland. The fish farm is situated on the shores of Mulroy Bay, Cranford, Co. Donegal, 10 mins by car from the office. Careful analysis of the breeding patterns of scallops was carried out by water sample testing to pinpoint the best time to put out spat collectors. At the optimum time spat collectors were set to catch the baby scallops, which we then nuturered and then ongrew to market size. This process would take approx. 3 – 4 years. The scallops would then be sold on to sellers.
