I know there are towns in Ireland who would kill for civic buildings as good as this one. I had to spend a few weeks studying in Mullingar recently, and the Mullingar library was the perfect place to hunker down with the books. The building itself is brand new, opening just over a year ago, so it’s bright, open, with plenty of resources close to hand. The lack of a dedicated study room is a little annoying, but the librarians do a great job keeping the place quiet. There are lockers available, a computer room, and archive. The only negative are the slightly odd opening hours, which change almost every day. Of the six days it’s open, only two have the same hours.
