There is not much to do in Portlaoise. We just stopped for the night and spent the evening in the hotel.
Parking is free for hotel guests, check in was very good and the rooms spacious.
We had dinner in the bar due to one or 2 functions. Food was quite decent and well priced.
Either though the Saturday night was busy and the hotel was occupied with wedding guests we did not hear any noise in our rooms. Just when they all left and chatted on the parking lot I woke up.
Breakfast was busy (Sunday madness) but the buffet provided everything for all kind of different tastes.

This hotel has been newly refurbished and is situated on the Dublin Road. It is decorated lovely and very new. There is an underground car park for guests and people using the hotel. The bar is lovely and very modern with flat screen tvs, its a great place to watch matches. They also serve food and a carvery for lunch. The hotel itself is reasonable value to stay in approx 89euro per room. They also have a new gym and swimming pool with leisure centre which is really nice. Its a top notch place. You can join as a member or use it as a once off. The staff seem very friendly as well, cant fault the place
