Had a really nice brunch here unexpectedly. Had planned to go to my local but it was closed over Christmas. I had the black pudding and hallumi salad. Was really good. Plus a sausage on the side. Random I know. Was a really good combo — the salad. Had to get desert as it looked incredible. It tasted even better. Waffles with strawberry and ice cream. Delish. Was great to have Unilocal to find places you wouldn’t normally find.

Very good food and nice selection of beer and drinks. I definitely recommend this establishment if you are in the area.

Met with friends for brunch on a Saturday and had to queue for a good bit. The staff is lovely and kept us updated every few minutes. Ordered poached eggs and spinach and it was ok but wasn’t the best. The décor is sober which I like when places tend to get crowded. Definitely will try a second time when in the area.

I’ve never heard of this place before but was looking for something in the Smithfield area. Arrived around 1 and there was a queue outside. Good thing is they have many tables so no one actually waited too long. Firstly one of the best things was the staff — the waitresses we’re just so nice and smiling all the time. It was really appreciated. Had the eggs benedict with crispy bacon. They were Extra good as they were served on toasted brioche. Had the warm chocolate brownie topped hazelnut, the cake was delicious and the crème anglaise was perfect. A very nice place for a relaxed brunch, I will definitely come back!

Boom! So I don’t know what the fuss is about this place… I waited 10 minutes outside for a table — very busy on Sundays and the turnover is quick. My mate and I ordered eggs benedict and we were very disappointed with the eggs benedict. The portions we small and the hollandaise sauce was bland too. Wouldn’t go back in a hurry.

Their sticky date pudding with caramel and vanilla ice cream is the end of the world. Pair it up with a coffee or with a craft stout and you have a great meal. Really cheap too!

Went here for brunch and enjoyed the eggs Benedict with salmon. Sadly, the cappuccino I ordered was comprised of boiling hot milk and no foam. Would recommend to a friend, but advise ordering an Americano with your meal.

Popped in here for lunch recently as I got parking on the street almost outside the door in Benburb Street, now that’s convenient! Very good choice for lunch, and mostly for less than a tenner, especially if you go for the sandwich or burger type. I had an open club chicken sandwich — on really tasty sourdough slice of bread, topped with spicy tomato relish — pretty ordinary you might say, but it was really delicious, obviously just freshly made for me and served with a very lightly dressed green salad and wee pot of homemade coleslaw. The chicken was lovely and moist as was the half boiled egg perfectly cooked, but the only grip I had was about the two streaky rashers served with it — they were cold — it would have been much nicer, in my view, to have perhaps a warm flavoured(maybe maple or smoked) back rasher instead. Sides of any kind were very tempting and very reasonable, starting at around € 2.50 extra, especially the caesar chips which I would highly recommend! The whole place was buzzing with lunch timers, and the service was excellent and efficient in every way. The brunch menu looks truly amazing and I will have to try that next time. I also noticed that they do a take out service — quite a few people came in and took away their lunches all wrapped up and ready to eat! Good experience and certainly worth a return trip — for the brunch next time though.

First things first, I love the breakfast/brunch in WUFF. It’s my go-to place. Ever since the owner/management changed, the service has become much much better, quicker, friendlier, just generally more service-y. So we went for dinner a while back. They do an early bird all evening Thursdays, with 2 courses for 19euro. Not bad at all. I started with the battered king prawns and my friend had the goats cheese samosas. Neither of the starters was nice. My prawns(not king but just average size) were deep-fried too lang and I couldn’t bite through the too crispy batter. So I just ate the salad it was served with. The samosas were quite dry, my friend didn’t enjoy them and sent at least half back. For mains I had the hake which was very tasty but a very small portion. The chicken dish my friend had was bigger but the chicken was awfully dry. He stopped eating half way through. So overall a very disappointing evening food-wise. But as I said, the breakfast/brunch in there is great so I will return on a regular basis just for that.

One of my favourite places to have brunch. I only go to other places when this is full. Benedict eggs are amazing. The irish breakfast is very good as well. Basically good food and a good kitchen:)

What a busy place! I arrived at 1000 with a meeting scheduled for 1300 and there wasn’t really much of a lull at all. They do reservations here — when I walked in there was already a number of reserved signs on tables. Reservations were for big groups but I do wonder if this is the right tactic for a small place like this. As far as I saw though, everyone that came in was seated bar one couple but I’m curious as to if this is the norm. It’s situated close to the Four Courts and Smithfield. The place itself is nice and cute. There’s great art on the walls and as someone else pointed out, it’s flooded with sunlight through those massive windows. Staff are friendly and very smiley — not the most organised bunch I would imagine though! But that’s all part of the charm of this neighbourhood café. Coffee is fine; the flat white was nothing to rave about and neither is the green tea but it is loose leaf and does come in a cool cast iron tea pot. I had some lunch after my meeting also after looking at what is a pretty good menu. I went for the Halloumi and Black Pudding salad with a honey and mustard vinaigrette. I was really excited about this one but it let me down a but. It was essentially green leaves, deep fried Halloumi and black pudding with a drizzle of dressing. I found it kind of flavourless to be honest so asked for some of the BBQ sauce that they serve with the pulled pork. I think something like this would work a little better — I’m definitely not a chef however. Planning on dropping in for brunch next weekend so hopefully can give it the 5 stars then.

Brought the missus and the brats here for breakie and it was lovely. Welcomed at the door and shown straight to a table by a very bubbly attentive waitress, the menu is small which I like in a bistro(means they perfect what they serve). Had the full irish which was feckin fab and reasonably priced, eggs for the daughter small breakie for her and the ten month old shared and I mean with everyone which was no bother as he flirted with the stunning Eastern European woman sat next. Milk comes in tiny little bottles which is a nice touch. Very happy leaving and didn’t need to consult with a mortgage advisor over the bill. Thanks guys

Came here with my fellow tourist traveler and two locals. Cocktail menu was creative and delicious for breakfast. I had one of their mimosa varieties and it was really good. For my main, I ordered the bacon benedict, which was really good. The eggs were a little overcooked for benedict but still yummy. The piece of toast but the eggs were on was very good as well. But, it didn’t have any accompaniments like salad or potatoes as expected for benedicts so the dish was a little one-note. Overall very good place for breakfast and breakfast cocktails, and the restaurant itself is very nice.

An OK brunch here on a very wet Saturday. We were given a table just inside the door. It can get a bit chilly when the door is opened on a cool day. Beside us were three students who felt the need to take over whatever space they could. Which, of course, isn’t the fault of Wuff. Ordered a Wufftini and I watched them make it. I think I got half flat /half fresh Prosecco so it was a let down. I ordered the small Irish breakfast and a side of black pudding. The sausage was good, the bacon was salty and not that nice! The Clonakilty black pudding was well cooked as was the egg and the sourdough toast. I finished with a Mosecco. This just tasted like Prosecco with water… Couldn’t really taste the lime or mint. Overall an ok experience. You can’t reserve for brunch but you can call ahead to check if they’re busy! If you get the seat beside the door like we had you might feel a tad uncomfortable when the queue for a table is starting to grow.

Not much to bark about in my opinion. Things started on a downward slide when we were seated beside 3 students doing a presentation and they needed to encroach across all available space. I don’t blame wuff for this but seriously people get some manners. The full Irish was OK. The beans out of a tin which I think is just wrong as it doesn’t take much to make them. The sausage and poached egg we’re the highlights. I love a belini but what I got was flat tasting and the bottom of a long open bottle. My coffee was again brewed to melting point another thing I hate. An OK brunch and this place is busy and no reservations so first come first served.

Had been meaning to try this place for ages as I thought it looked gorgeous. Went for brunch last week and was sadly highly underwhelmed. I got a cappuccino to start which was good. I opted for the veggie breakfast which sounded great — all the usual with the addition of homemade baked beans, beef tomato and veggie sausages-yum! What came out was so disappointing… Maybe it was misguided of me but I expected somewhere like this to make their own veggie sausages, or at least have something of high quality. Nope! They were deep fried logs of cubed carrot, peas and I’m guessing potato. They taste like frozen cheap veggie«sausages» that had been fried. The tomato that arrived was shriveled and small– not a beef tomato. I know this is not a major thing but why make a point of putting it on your menu if it’s not true? And then the biggest insult of all — the«homemade baked beans» were from a tin! I easily could have whipped up the very same breakfast at home for a fraction of the cost. I was really annoyed about it so when the waitress came over to ask was everything ok I mentioned that the beans and tomato were not what was described on the menu. She went«ehh I’ll go check with the chef» when she returned she gave me a feeble excuse, something about«oh yeah the chef says were getting a new menu so we still have to change that»… Sorry, what? After we left I had a look on Unilocal and I can see that their menu has been the same for the last few months AND I can see that all of their pictures feature baked beans from a tin, and no beef tomatoes. These are not just buzz words to be thrown on a menu! When we had paid and were walking out the door the waitress half heartedly came up to us and went«oh, sorry about that again!» Which I thought was a bit weird. Anyway I was really disappointed with the experience and probably won’t return as a result.

Had breakfast here this morning, decided against everything that is me and decided on the vegetarian option… Very tasty, the usual suspects on the plate but with the addition of what I want to believe are homemade sausages. Beautiful filling with a crispy casing… Bright décor and a spacious feeling to with all the glass windows around. I reckon one more healthy option on the breakfast menu like a porridge or an avocado dish or its a winner.

Wuff has the cutest interior ever, filled with lots of sunlight. The services is also lovely making it a great atmosphere to be in. I wasn’t so impressed with my Irish breakfast however — I just felt like it was any typical Irish breakfast, nothing special. There are loads of other items on the menu, and I’m definitely willing to come back to try more. To be continued?

This restaurant is the one if you are looking for a romantic dinner. It is quite, nice and cosy. Food is delicious(i highly recommand the cheese platter: just like in France smelly and testy) ! Staff is more than smiley… You Will feel like home. We payed 60 € for 2 with a carafe of wine, main course and dessert, more than reasonable for the quality of this dinner !

If those Caeser fries didn’t keep bleedin well pulling me back in!!! As I’ve previously mentioned, the food in here is really really good. Like I cannot say one single thing to fault it. But I nearly wish it was shite so I wouldn’t have to keep coming back here, as honestly the staff are a nightmare. There were four staff working on Monday morning’s bank holiday shift, and with the exception of the lone ranger guy, not one of them raised a smile once the whole time we were there. Aside from the seriously cold attitude, it was all I could do to get their attention several times over the course of brunch. At one stage, four of them seemed to be very busy tidying menus, doing something at the til, someone else doing something else very studiously over the other side, but not one person looking to the floor to the two diners(myself and another table) that had been trying to get their attention for five minutes. I had to ask for water a few times — it was never refilled when we got to the end of our bottle, and it took a good five to ten minutes of trying to get their attention to get the bill, and again to pay. Eventually when I caught the eye of the waitress behind the til, she beckoned at me to come over to her to pay, rather than coming to take the money from me. This might seem like a princess type thing to complain about, but honestly it was as if she really just could not be bothered. Again, not even a smile was raised or barely a thank you when I did go up to her. I really hope the management in Wuff do read these reviews as I’m a big fan of the place besides the really shitty service, so I’d love for them to pull up their socks and make dining in here a more pleasurable experience.

Not a lot of places to have brunch in Smithfield on the weekend, Wuff being the most popular choice. We ordered an eggs Benedict and jerk chicken burger, the former was delicious with the hollandaise sauce spot on. The jerk chicken was well, not very jerky — I’d imagine an orgy of Caribbean flavours in my mouth but it just tasted like grilled chicken. Coffee was excellent with some superpower mugs they use that keep the coffee hot for ages. You know you always wince at tepid coffee midway through brunch — well that didn’t happen! Oh — and try the Caesar fries(double cooked chips with Caesar dressing and melted parmesan)… a million calories but YOU’REWORTHIT.(toss hair a la Cheryl Cole with Geordie accent).
