Brutal two experiences at Merrion Tree for lunch.
Both occasions they were understaffed with one lazy waiter who unsurprisingly wasn’t motivated following some grief he got from the chef. The food is of very good quality but kept waiting 40 minutes+ and the salad portion size was taking the absolute mick.€ 11.95 for a sliver of chicken with a sprinkle of leaves and a fancy squirt of pesto.
Complete rip off, not worth the wait one bit. They are taking well advantage of their monopoly in the area.

We came here twice for breakfast. The scones and coffee are excellent and parking is really easy. Orange juice was fresh squeezed. Nice atmosphere with mostly local patrons.

I dropped in here as a little treat the other day. I have been to the café before and I must say, it has never let me down.
Sometimes I find that with so many chains out there, you miss out on the ‘real Irish Café’. Well the Merrion Tree is exactly that — a ‘Real Irish Café’. The staff are lovely, the food was great and the atmosphere was very enjoyable.
I saw signs up for afternoon tea — I am hoping to drop in on that some time soon!
