History
Established in 1846.
Beverly Smyth, a visionary of his time, established the company in 1846. Who could have predicted that those millions would emigrate. Many emigrated through necessity, relocating lock stock and barrel to the four corners of the world — creating what is known as the Irish Diaspora.
The leisurely, gracious world of Georgian Dublin saw the foundation of Beverly Smyth, making our company the longest surviving commercial operation in Ireland’s capitial city and the nations oldest removal company.
Our long and successful history stretching from horse and cart era to the present day has been based in providing a service that is second to none.
With the recognition of the Free State in 1923 our role expanded dramatically into the international arena. We moved the household of Micheal MacWhite, the first Irish Ambassador to Washington in 1924.
Since then we have been involved in countless exhibitions, high profile office and household moves and most recently for President Michael D Higgins.
