Fabulous dinner with truffles. It was truffle season and we ate truffle tasting menu. Expensive but very special. Service was gracious. Didn’t push us to expensive wines(Barolo). Charming décor and quiet ambience.

Not impressed. 3 courses with a glass of wine was € 80. The food was mediocre at best. I’d much rather eat at Enolab or Lalibera, both of which would cost half as much. Little wonder why only 3 tables on a busy Sat night. Not going back even if you drag me by my hair!

Decadent. (I could end my review there… but it would be fair if I commented on my experience this evening.) Originally I had planned on just grabbing a simple meal somewhere in town, and was reservation-less strolling around Alba. The exterior of this restaurant drew me in with their gated door, that seemed to «just open» for me. I looked at the menu, and asked if there was availability — and there was. Everything about this restaurant oozes upscale. From the orchid on my table, to the flatware, to the wine glasses… to the décor — –everything was extravagant. The chef/owner himself, Bruno was who not only greeted me, but served me throughout the evening. He selected my glass of Nebbiolo for starters which was spot on! I try to skip past the antipasti and primi piatti, to save room for the secondi. I chose the beef tournedo w foie gras. The beef was absolutely unreal. It was the most tender piece of beef I’ve EVER had in my life. Literally it was as soft to cut as a soft butter. Seriously. Okay, so I probably ask skip antipasti and primi piattio for dessert too. even though i was thinking I shouldn’t. But i left the choice up to Bruno. He presented me with a hazelnut cake with this opulent sauce with whole hazelnuts and some chocolate. Sooooo delicious! I really, really wanted to take some photos of how beautiful this location is and meal — –but just didn’t want to come off awkward in front of the other guests. If your in Alba and looking for an amazing meal — — look no further! Wine selection is nearly endless as well. Go… you’ll love it!
