Da Franco is a wonderful, welcoming little family run place with delicious food. I wish there was a place like this near my home, I would be a regular! The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the simple pizzeria décor. The food is great, with a special stew made with 7 different fishes that looked amazing. The pizza was very tasty, and the pastas fresh and flavorful. We also had a calamari salad appetizer that was unforgettable. To augment the great food is great service. It is a very simple place, not fancy at all, but the owners daughter adds all the charm the simple décor might lack. She is so animated and helpful, kind and generous, I felt as if I had made a friend. And this despite the fact that she spoke very little English. Viareggio is a great base for exploring Tuscany and the Cinque Terra area. If you find yourself there, try this gem, you will not be disappointed!
