Amalfi Coast Destination Car Service

My husband and I used this service twice, initially to pick us up and drive us around the amalfi coast to the port in Sorrento for our trip to go on to our hotel in Capri and then from the Naples port to the airport.
They are not a tour company, but our driver was wonderful and had «colorful», informative comments as we drove through the various towns. The cars are top notch, newer and very clean, and best of all, we changed our itinerary completely last minute and the driver was extremely helpful and accommodating, making us feel relaxed and no stress at all for doing this.
Their prices were also much less than any hotel would charge for their car service recommendations, and Amalfi Destinations prices are very competitive with other companies.
I would use them again in a heartbeat!

This is not a tour company. Once you know that you should truly enjoy the services provided. That was my only disappointment. When they say in a tour package «walking tour» it should really say «self guided walking tour.» That being said, Roberto gave us more info than most tour guides.
Now for the good. The prices were compatible for that area (and slightly less) then their competitors.
I chose Amalfi Coast Destinations because they spoke English, the type of tours offered and the price.
The price is high for the services provided but as previously stated they were cheaper than the competitors.
I emailed Ines for quotes and to create my own tour options. Her written English was intelligent. She promptly answered any questions, concerns and changes (and even on holidays). Very impressed. I booked 3 months in advance and Ines followed up shortly before our visit to confirm our reservation and to provide the name and cellular number of our driver.
Our driver for the week was Roberto. What can I say about him other than «family.» Extremely social, very intelligent about events (both local and worldly), full of local culture and pleasant.
Roberto told us all about the area as we drove which literally began within minutes of leaving the airport. He had tons of stories about local history and knew all the photo hotspots.
Roberto was very attentive to our needs. Being photographers we did not want to miss a thing and Roberto ensured that we did not miss anything.
They picked up at the airport and delivered us back to our airport at the conclusion of our vacation.
We did an Amalfi coast day tour (includes Amalfi, Ravello, Positano, and other cities they did not list in the package). Wow. We’ll worth it. Amazing views, history and sites. If you want this tour for shopping then think twice as timed was limited but since that was not motive we were very pleased. Roberto prepared for a lunch at a local favorite place in Furore. The view was incredible. the service was prompt and the food was incredible. Even better, Roberto essentially ordered for us based on our conversation. No thinking necessary — just enjoy. Only complaint was tat I really wanted to see the Emerald Grotto but due to the high seas it had to be cancelled. I cannot blame Amalfi Destinations for that but be aware that weather is certainly a factor for this site.
We did another full fay tour to Sorrento, Pompeii and Herculaneum. I asked to have Herculaneum added to there normal tour and they were happy to accommodate us. Herculaneum is much smaller than Pompeii but well worth it as the old paintings and art is in better conditions and preserved in comparison to Pompeii. Pompeii was huge and impressive. People should be respectful of the lives lost. I was simply amazed that the building and structures are almost 2000 years old and was not lost even after the eruption Amazing. Sorrento is a cute little town. While not on our tour, Roberto made room for us to have a private tour of a olive oil factory. Really cool and unexpected addition. The private tour at the factory was very nice and informative. Plus we got to sample the product. Well worth it and I could not help but shop there.
At the last minute we decided to take a day trip to Rome. Roberto arranged for everything, including getting us to the train station, making sure our tickets were purchased and setting up a tour with an associated tour company in Rome. It was flawless.
I really have nothing bad to say about Amalfi Coast Destinations Tours. Great job and loved the individual attention we received. Keep it up.

Our experience with Roberto was the highlight of of Europe.
Normally, I’m an independent traveller. I enjoy finding hidden places, traveling like a local in cities, and generally immersing myself in a place. I do look for advice – from friends, local residents, and my amazing travel agent.
I am not a cruise person, but I found myself on a cruise in Europe with family. 8 ports in 10 days… if you want the sampler platter of the Continent, not a bad way to go. Problem: How to do more than stop in a city and check a box?
This is where Amalfi Coast Destination came in. I had never been on a private tour by car before, and though I’ve done a number since, this was the best experience I (or my family) has had.
Roberto is an amazing guide and driver. He’s from the Amalfi Coast and knows just about everyone. We even ran into his father in Ravello. He gives you access to a lot of places that the tour buses won’t stop at. And completely customized to your needs – we wanted to throw Pompeii into the mix and were able to do so without being rushed. The highlights:
*Touristy stuff: A boat ride through a grotto, and a little miniature of a town
*Shopping in Amalfi
*Breathtaking views and photo stops the whole way – including a posh hotel not open to random tourists
*Wandering the square of Ravello
*The most amazing meal ever: balcony view down the gorge to the Med at Ristorante San Giovanni, a rustic hand crafted meal. Roberto even brought the limoncello.
*Pompeii
Dock to dock service in a comfortable Mercedes mini-​van that could easily accommodate 6. It was a memorable day with family, one we will never forget. If you are headed to the Amalfi Coast this is the way to go: in style.
