Hotel Nautilus

Ruhiges, gemütliches Hotel am Strand. Die Zimmer sind nicht groß, ein Mitteleuropäer stellt sich bei der WC-​Benutzung einer großen Herausforderung.
Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal.

New hotel with 17 rooms on the Lungomare Poetto, 10 min. drive from the city centre. It was very quiet (end of May 2015) because the Lungomare is being repaved and traffic-​free. No direct seaview from the hotel because of an ugly large building on the beach right in front of the hotel.
Room: nicely decorated blue/​white, nautical style, with all modern facilities (TV, A/​C, free WiFi, minibar). Unfortunately our room was VERY small, I estimate it at about 3×3 m²! Really much too small for 2 people. From the floorplan that was exposed in the room, I could see that it was the smallest room on the first floor, much smaller than the other rooms. For which, by the way, I paid too much using
. The price list in the room showed a price of 115 euro in high season (we were there at the end of May, which is not high season yet) incl. breakfast, whereas I paid 120 euro. So beware and doublecheck the prices with the hotels before booking with
or another booking site.
Sleep quality: good, room could be well darkened and there was no noise from outside or from the other rooms.
Parking: street parking (free).
Service: customerfriendly multilingual staff.
Breakfast: good breakfast with fresh fruits, cheese, cold meats, cereals, yoghurt, … and excellent cappuccino.
Extra: free bikes and umbrellas/​sun loungers to take to the beach.
AVOID ROOM NO. 101!
Only three stars because of the very small room.
