We enjoyed a wonderful dinner here, our best yet in Italy! The owners are welcoming and very friendly and service is prompt. The grilled octopus antipasto special was particularly memorable. The complimentary Limoncello to finish the meal was on fleek! Prices are high, but it’s Capri so it’s expected. We will be back!

My wife and I were greeted by Gianluca, who I recognized from a photo in the review that made me choose this restaurant for our first night in Capri. He is the owner and also waited on us with another young man who was equally delightful. We were happily welcomed with complimentary bruschetta and champagne. While we browsed our menus, Gianluca brought over a platter of fish and described all three, I loved this part, the fish were fresh as could be and still had their heads intact. I picked the local capri catch from that morning. Not only did Gianluca describe the sea salt broil/bake process but seemed equally excited to prepare the fish as he was that I selected it. He was also kind enough to explain to me the price quietly just incase I wasn’t prepared to spend that much. It was essentially the price of a good streak in the U.S. My wife decided to go with a pasta dish. Spaghetti with zucchini and provolone. While we waited for our entrée we started with an appetizer platter. There were two options, one from the land and one from the sea. We went with the land based platter. It was amazing! 3 types of Mozzarella, incredibly airy, and fresh. Brosuito, and other dried ham, phenomenal bread, and a spinach and cheese puff pastry all ontop if very ripe cut in half grape tomatoes, and some green roughage. Both seemed to come from his personal garden. I went with a nice dry white wine by the glass, it was recommended to me, not too pricey, and paired up quite well with my fish. Now let me tell you about the best piece of fish I have ever had in my life. I have eaten fresh fish from Ny to san diego, Cabo, to Puerto Rico, Florida to New Orleans. Gianluca came out with a huge platter, piled high with sea salt, he took off the top layer of salt and then gently scrapped the rest of the salt revealing my capri fish. I have no idea what it was called, he told me, but I didn’t retain the name. He then peeled back the skin and carefully placed the fish meat on my plate. It was a white fish. Gianluca then deboned the fish perfectly then placed the next layer of fish on my plate. Presentation was incredible, only to be out done by the lightest, and most tender fish I have ever had in my life. Not even a hint of fishy taste or smell. It was perfection. My wife’s pasta was incredible as well. But I only tasted that, and what I tasted quickly was fresh and full of beautiful big flavors. The kind gentlemen then finished our meals with a complimentary lemoncello, and a light piece of chocolate cake with powdered sugar on top. It was perfect. We plan to return for our last night here tomorrow. It’s our honeymoon and this restaurant will forever be apart of our fantastic experience in Capri.

The empty room might’ve usually scared is away, but the food was superb. Ravioli and spaghetti in clam sauce were both very tasty and the service was excellent. Caprese salad was done well, also. The exclusivity/tourist-trapiness of Capri keeps all prices high and this restaurant falls in the middle of that, but an acceptable bill. Complimentary lemoncello drinks also helps with the review.

My roommate and I stumbled upon this place and signed up for the cooking class which was run by the owner, Gianluca. Of all the food tours and cooking classes we looked into, this seemed the most authentic experience given it doesn’t cater to the masses. We spent 4 hours drinking espresso, eating italian cookies, drinking wine, and cooking/eating enough for the whole day. The 3-course lunch we made consisted of a caprese salad, ravioli and torta caprese(all vegetarian for those that struggle with menus). We also ended off with some local limoncello and all recipes printed and ready for us to take home. Holly(Gianluca’s wife) was amazing taking loads of pictures for us and serving us anything we needed. They gave us the best table in the house and made us feel like we had instantly become friends. Personally, I loved how open and laidback the whole experience was. The couple shared their story and just radiated with love and positivity that couldn’t help but make you smile. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant! It’s a must if you’re ever in Capri!

Great service and ambience. The staff were extremely attentive and service was efficient. The eggplant parmigiana was very good but the main courses were just okay. Two of our meals were extremely salty which was balanced by the tastelessness of the other two meals.

I ate at Ristorante Michel’angelo last year & really enjoyed the tasty food, relaxed ambience & friendly service. I was delighted to return this year & discover that they had also added a Mozzarella Bar. The mozzarella included on the cheese & meat plate was so refreshing & flavoursome, so much better than the mozzarella that you get in Australia, and perfect with a nice drop. For something indulgent, I also really enjoyed the burrata(cream filled mozzarella)! Just like last year, any experience I’ve had at Ristorante Michel’angelo has not disappointed!

We met Holly, Michel Angelo owner’s wife, at the Plaza. She told us about her husband’s restaurant and we told her that I could not find any restaurant that had lasagna on the menu. We made reservations that night. We showed up and Gianluca had premade a special plate of lasagna just for me. The service was absolutely magnificent and food and wines were fantastic. The entire experience was absolutely surreal. Gianluca also gave us their family wine as a gift. You must find this gem in Capri!

What a wonderful place! Such great service! We enjoyed some of the owner’s red wine. We had a delicious appetizer of perfectly ripened melon with Parma ham. I had the risotto with mushrooms(large portion) and my boyfriend had a sirloin steak(with tomato and mushroom based sauce). Both were very tasty and we could barely(if not) finish the portions. We ordered limoncello but instead got the Mandarin version(made by own we’d mother)…even BETTER than limoncello. Then the owner treated us to a second carafe of it gratis! On our way out, he gave us a tour of his cellar and some(free) tasting of one of his varietals. Great food, great service and HIGHLY recommended as a quiet, intimate environment.
