Fiumicino airport has plenty of food stops to choose from, most offer Italian food. I am so used to huge variety of multiple cuisines one can easily experience back home in the SF Bay Area, this is one thing that surprises me in Rome every time: pizza, pasta, gnocchi and panini are everywhere, but if you want anything else… well, not an easy task, shall I say. Ciao is no different — you should get your last panini here on your way out of Roma, or perhaps first one in-:). They are quite good. Everywhere I had my cappuccino it was fine, Ciao included.(I’m yet to find a place that didn’t serve a delicious cup of coffee in Italy). They serve beer and wine here as well. Bön appétit!

Be careful of the cashier at checkout, they sometimes short change you if you don’t check properly. The cashier told me what I thought was 14.20(but was 40.20) so I handed her 54.20 and she only gave me 10 back. I did not check properly so that was my fault but wanted to let others know. I saw her do this to another old couple as I was eating and sitting behind where the cash was.

This place was great for cup of cappuccino and a chocolate croissant which cost me € 2.90. What a bargain! It was great but cappuccino was not as hot as I usually like. I would also order a larger size as cappuccinos are tiny in Italy. It’s probably the normal size but I’m used to American sizing! They have wide variety of choices here so it’s a great place to grab something quick. Highly recommend!

Lanchonete/restaurante no aeroporto de Roma com boas e variadas opções, mas com o atendimento um tanto quanto antipático. Enfim, bem-vindo à Itália!

FOODCOURT We were delayed in the Rome Airport once again for the second time in two weeks. I think we are going to need to get a room here like Tom Hanks in The Terminal movie. My wife joked that we really know our way around the Rome airport. I am not sure if we want to brag about this. This place has everything you could ever want for food. In fact, this place is like an American food court except all the food is Italian. I was impressed that you can choose a raw burger patty, steak or pork chop and have them make it fresh for you. That would never happen in a real food court. The burger cracked me up because it doesn’t come on a bun but instead is covered in tomato sauce. The best part about this place was that all three of us could get what we wanted to eat. The momma got a great big salad and the little one decided to get some fresh asparagus risotto. Honestly she is such a foodie. All of the other American children were crying for chicken nuggets. There was even a teen complaining to his parents there was nothing for him to eat. It was a little embarrassing but if the family was on TV we would definitely watch the show. It was like watching Honey BooBoo goes to Europe. I ordered a panini and the girl behind the counter selected the wrong one. The line was so long that I didn’t even fight. I must say the panini was amazing. It had prosciutto, fresh basil, fresh mozzarella, tomato & shaved Parmesan cheese. How can I get mad when this mistake was so yummy? I told my family I am glad she made this incorrect choice and my belly thanks her too. So if you find yourself delayed or hungry in Rome this place has a ton of food to choose from. If you have a large party then everyone will be happy with all of the great choices of food. They also have beer & wine! Salute it’s Italy!
