Celestino

We found this spot by accident after crossing the Ponte Vecchio. As usually we were very hungry and had no idea what to expect.
Spaghetti carbonara — we realized we had never had this dish before even though I know it’s a fairly typical dish. It was very good but if you don’t like butter this may not be the right dish for you. It was looked very simple but was full of flavor but not over done.
Lamb chops — again very simple but it tasted perfectly charbroiled and was one of our favorite things while we were in Rome.
Homemade tiramisu — my husband and I are not big tiramisu fans but since they said it was made in house we thought we would try it. It was very good but we don’t have much to judge it against.

Das Ristorante Celentino liegt ganz in der Nähe der Ponte Veccio in einer kleinen Gasse. Auf der kleinen Piazza an der Kirche Santa Felicita ist es abends sehr stimmungsvoll und lebhaft und im Celestino sind eher die Florentiner selbst, als Touristen, zu Gast und das ist ja immer ein gutes Zeichen.
Die Essensauswahl ist umfangreich und dennoch war alles, was uns serviert wurde, frisch gekocht und sehr schmackhaft. Insbesondere die Fleischgerichte sind sehr empfehlenswert UND die Dolci der Hit schlechthin. Mamma Mia!!! Die hausgemachte Auswahl wird im Restaurant auf einem Servierwagen präsentiert. Da hatten wir dann die Qual der Wahl und haben kuzerhand jeder ein anderes Dessert gewählt, um möglichst viel probieren zu können das war auf jeden Fall die richtige Wahl!
Da wir ein Geburtstagskind unter uns hatten, wurde das Tiramisu mit kleiner Kerze und einem fröhlichen Tanti auguri a te! serviert. Ein weiteres liebenswertes Detail. Einfach mal hingehen und ausprobieren… Es lohnt sich!
