If you can walk a few more streets, avoid this restaurant at all costs. It looks like a tourist trap, most customers are American tourists. They serve below average italian food. A disgrace to the culinary and service of Italy. Spoiled our last day in Florence.

This is a typical off the beaten track place in Florence. The menu is very southern, Sicilian in fact. We eaten here for years and the menu is pretty much the same. Be sure to get the starter the appetizer Mimmo, a nice starter plate that is filled with spicy goodness. I like the beefsteak Florientine here, not exactly served in the classical mode but still very good and prepared just right. the fried zucinni flowers are also done just right. My only critique is that this can be a very loud place, especially if there is a large group of loverly excited american tourist. they take reservations and the place fills up fast.
