Garibardi

Not sure what other people were talking about but this restaurant was great. My wife had pear ravioli that were something that she raved about and my meal was perfectly done. Highly recommended!!!

Lugar incrível, chegamos desconfiado, mas fomos bem recebidos. Minha esposa escolheu um risoto de frutos do mar maravilhoso, eu escolhi um espaguete basílico incrível e depois uma buchada fiorentina incrível! A garçonete foi simpática e atenciosa! Excelente lugar!

Unfortunately this restaurant was a real disappointment… As an inexpensive recommendation from my school, I probably should have stayed away in the first place. But the bistecca alla fiorentina was the most tasteless, sad excuse for a piece of meat I have ever had. Not only was the food terrible, our waiter was extremely creepy towards us and made us all very uncomfortable the entire meal… I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone, there are far better options anywhere else in florence.

I’m pretty sure I just ate the biggest steak on the planet. Over 2 pounds of T-​Bone split with the wife and I have the meat sweats.
The bistecca Florentine is a must in Florence. And if you get it prepared the way the locals do, it is still kicking when it hits your table. It has some fat (show me a big steak that doesn’t) but is prepared perfectly. There are no condiments on the table or needed and I am pretty sure you would be shot on site if you ask for A-​1.
Order the steak. Avoid an appetizer as you seriously do not have room. God help you if you do. Order the beans as the side dish. Eat them all. You will never find beans like this in the States and will never forgive yourself if you don’t eat them.
Don’t pretend to be anything but American. I think mostly locals dine here and we did get the stare down when we walked in. I wasn’t wearing my trucker hat with the eagle on it so I think they just know, and maybe don’t care for, visitors. Service was still fairly attentive but not in a Disneyland sort of way.
Like everywhere in Italy be prepared to buy your water and pay pretty well for it. You are better off putting that towards some great wine or a good beer.

Das Essen war sehr gut, es gab auf Nachfrage sogar ein Karte mit glutenfreien Speisen, die, wir mir versichert wurde, auch sehr gut waren.
Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.
Die Preise waren im ortsüblichen Rahmen.
Hier würde ich jederzeit wieder einkehren.

This place is fine to eat. Nice interior with AC. For 24 euros, I got the menu bistecca which includes 500g florentine steak + potatoes + dessert of the day. I got the medium steak and some parts of it were on the rare side, which I don’t mind too much. I must say though, florentine steak is pretty tough compared to american steaks. It was hard to cut and took a while to eat. Was this place amazing? no… but it fulfilled my protein craving for the day. I had to add salt and pepper since it was pretty bland. The dessert consisted of 3 layers of crunchy pastry with cream in between each layer. I think there are other places around that are cheaper for the steak. It’s not special enough to get out of your way for this place. Bonus is. they do accept the red meal tickets that students get!

So so pizza. Bread tasteless. Sorbet delivered hard as a rock. Waitress spoke fair English. You can easily do better elsewhere.

Was an diesem Restaurant überzeugt ist die Atmosphäre: Es ist voll, man kann herrlich draußen sitzen, Leute gucken etc. Das Essen war jetzt wirklich nicht überragend, aber ganz solide. Die Vorspeisenplatte war in Ordnung. Die Pizzen waren leider etwas lasch sowohl vom Geschmack als auch von der Konsistenz. Der Wein war ok. Fazit: Kann man hingehen.

If you ask some of the leather shops in Florence where to go for a meal, they will tell you Garibardi. Several told us. We finally made it in for lunch, and while it was a pleasant experience — the atmosphere, the service — the food was just okay. We were glad that there were cooked greens on the menu (I believe a spinach/​chard mix) which is rare on an Italian menu, and they were delicious, but everything else was just okay.

Wieder ein Geheimtipp und verdächtig nah zum Dom und San Lorenzo Markt — daher vermuteten wir eine der üblichen Touristenfallen. Aber genau das Gegenteil haben wir erlebt und sind, vorweg gesagt, letzendlich nach ausgezeichnetem Essen in super gemütlicher Atmosphäre in dieser kleinen Eck-​Trattoria bei diversen offenen halben Litern Monte Pulcianos und einigen Grappe vom Haus völlig versackt. Vorher aber hatten wir Appetit auf Spaghetti aglio e olio (deren Zubereitung eigentlich immer der Beweis, ob ein Italiener gut ist oder nicht). Diese, obwohl nicht auf der Karte, bestanden den Test und wurden von der sehr freundlichen Bedienung gebracht, der es augenscheinlich Spass machte, ihre Gäste zu beraten und versorgen. So riet sie uns, statt der 2 einzelnen Portionen des Bistecca Fiorentina lieber eine große Portion zu teilen, da so ein besseres Stück auf den Grill käme. Nicht zuetzt diese Empfehlung war der Grund für die anschließenden Schnäpse, nur der wirklich unwiderstehliche Geschmack des auf den Punkt gegrillten, superzarten Fleisch ließ und die Riesenportion zu zweit überhaupt schaffen. Wir hatten, nach entsprechender Pause, noch Espresso und Dolce, an welches ich mich ob der folgenden alkoholischen Getränke leider nicht mehr erinnere, ausser, dass es ebenfalls hausgemacht und sehr lecker war. Also, als Fazit: Essen, Trinken, Service und Location wie beschrieben, Preise moderat und völlig gerechtfertigt und als großer Pluspunkt: Entgegen des üblichen Bestellen — Essen — Zahlen und Platz für die nächsten Touristen machen konnte man im Garibardi einen entspannten, langen Abend genießen und sich zuvorkommend und freundlich bedient fühlen.
