In a sea of great shopping in a great heritage plaza, nice to see an affordable optical place. May not have all the major designer labels, but sure has gorgeous service, one in particular named Enza ;) What impressed me the most was her service in making a few calls to double-check on the pricing for my super-high prescription for index lens lol. After what seemed like 10 minutes, she even apologized. Prices are about the same back home but there was a silly $ 25 Euro per lens fitting fee. At least she gave me another gorgeous shammy to clean my glasses; smart how it lists all of their locations, another great marketing piece.

If you’re touring Florence and have lost your reading glasses, make this your next stop! My friend left her glasses on the plane, and didn’t think getting a new pair would be easily available or affordable. The lovely woman at Guidoreni got her fixed up with a pair of readers — offering several for testing — in less than five minutes, for a price of € 25! There were several styles to choose from, so my friend left feeling much better that she’d be able to actually read over the next two weeks, and also that she’d found something with a bit of style! This is a chain with many locations throughout Florence, and I can’t speak to the service overall. But this location, right by the duomo, was friendly, fast, and efficient… even spoke enough English to make up for our limited Italian! Highly recommended!

I really love this chain, it’s a Florentine family-owned company that has been in business since 1979. This location is one of the two original ones. Now they have 7 locations! I originally went in to get a new screw for my glasses, they did a great job considering I had worn it off trying to put a screw in unsuccessfully. So they drilled a new screw and tightened it with a mini bolt. They’re like new! The eye Dr didn’t let me pay for the job even tho i insisted! So very nice :) They do prescription glasses in one hour, and they also sell contacts. The sunglasses they carry are all fancy designer brands(Fendi, Armani, Carrera, Prada, etc) and the prices are super great. I had just bought a pair of Fendi sunglasses so I’m not allowed to buy any sunglasses til next season(or if I lose them in the river again), but their 30% off discount almost made me lose my self control. Potentially you could get a pair of designer sunglasses for only € 80 euro(about $ 100)!!! Gotta love and support the family-owned Florentine businesses. Come and take a look!
