Stumbled on this place heading to another restaurant and was pleasantly surprised! The outdoor ambience is airy and comfortable and the food is yummy and inexpensive. I went with a marinara pizza which was well seasoned. It was a little crispy in the middle which isn’t my favorite, but the crust and marinara sauce were delicious. My friends got pasta and all loved their dishes. I recommend it for a nice lunch or dinner out with classically good Italian food.

Average food, overpriced, and rude service. The only thing this restaurant has going for it is its location. However, the plates are overpriced. In addition, they charge a 15% fee on top of your meal. Our waiter reminded us about 7 times that this was not his tip and we needed to be sure to leave extra for him. I think if it wasn’t for the awful service, perhaps we could have given this place 3 stars, but it just was that bad — probably the worst we had in all of Italy.

The preparation was good, but the steak was tough and stringy. The Spinach saltati was just boiled. The Panna cota was terrible, jello with strawberry jam!

In a good location not far from the duomo, this restaurant/shisha bar(at 9pm and onwards). I had the gnocchi filled with mozzarella which was quite impressive I would suggest it to anyone as it’s a safe choice. On our table we also got the gnocchi e pesto which similarly to mine was amazing. We also got the pasta carbonara which I hear was also very nice(provided your not lactose intolerant in which case it sucks). We had the pizza with eggplant which like most pizzas in Florence was very nice(however seeing as there are lots of specialist pizzerias in Florence I would go for the pasta. Finally I also ordered the Bruchetta which was very nice, for those who don’t know that’s tomatoes on toast. Which is simple but strangely very nice. We had two bottles of wine, the white Pinot grio was simple but nice with a pungent aftertaste and then we changed to the Ruffino rose which I thought was actually better(and it’s cheaper) so win, win! Hope to see you here either for a meal or for shisha!

Overall the experience was not bad. Ordered both Pappardelle dishes with Wild Boar and a ravioli dish. Small portions, cost, and lack of adequate presentation are why this establishment will stay at 3 stars. The quality of the food wont blow you away but it was decent.

While in port, my wife and I toured Firenze’s Ufizzi Gallery to catch a glimpse of David. We ere not disappointed in spite of the long lines of hundreds waiting to get in. Can’t imagine the frustrations if we did not get reserved tickets. After David, we wandered over to Ponte Vecchio — the famed bridge for photo ops and shopping. Having checked these off our bucket list, we then set out to feast on traditional Florentine fares. Found Cantastore totally by accident(as we typically do) but our hunch proved right. The place is far from the madding crowd of tourists and selfie-paparazzi. Fantastic menu, friendly staff who spoke fantastic English, very engaging and helpful. Anything with porcini mushrooms the menu, we got. Beer and wine reasonably priced. Plenty of Aqua naturale and gassy. I again had my piazza Napolitana done differently with basil and capers, as well as chovies. My wife had the seafood pasta. Overall a superb meal and dining experience. Nothing fancy. The ambience was traditional Italian. Come on by when in town. Highly recommended. I will certainly come back.

I am visiting Firenze and we decided to eat here on the piazza side as we were enjoying watching people in the piazza. The menu prices seemed fine to me. Problem one was that our food had way too much garlic in it. It burned our mouths. The second problem was that they added 15% for a service charge on our bill but I was in a hurry to pay because our 2 year old daughter was very tired and wanted to go to bed. The waiter hurried me to follow him to the credit card machine and when he did he took my invoice. Before he input my credit card he asked«there is no service charge on the invoice. would you like to add one?» I was caught off guard and said«8 Euro». I then left and quickly realized that he took 15% plus 8 Euro(plus I think they charged per place setting). Very unscrupulous people are working there.

I ordered a special that included steak florentine, a green salad and a glass of chianti for 20 euro. The chianti was delightful, and the steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The only low point was that the green salad was literally a bowl of lettuce. Just plain, unadulterated lettuce. I guess the name was ambiguous, and I didn’t ask, so I can’t be that upset. But the steak totally made up for it. The wait staff was friendly and just the right amount of attentive. And their limoncello was on point! So good! Other notes: 15% service fee added, they accept credit cards, staff spoke some English, and free wifi. Overall, happy to have stumbled upon this place during our short stay in Venice.

The rest of my family found their main dishes good(pizzas and pappardelle with boar), but I would say that my gnocchi with Gorgonzola and pear was only ok. We had a nice bruchetta sampler as an appetizer and did have a lovely bottle of Peppoli Chianti. Service was good, but I didn’t like how they were calling people in off the street. That’s not necessary.

The food(ravioli and pizza) was generally ok, but not exceptional in any way. Good location but I would say the place is taking advantage of the tourists. We were served a desert looking like a mess of cream and caramel with some strange crunchy pastry, and the staff tried to convince us this the tiramisu we ordered.

Our food, service and atmosphere were all satisfying at this Tuscan ristorante across from Geppetto’s workshop. A generous glass of red accompanied our fresh Caprese salad, and perfectly crispy bruschetta. The Margherita pizza was flavorful and was polished off entirely, along with their delicious bread basket. I tried the intriguing Ravioli with pecorino cheese in a pear/beetroot cream sauce. The description lost me in the translation, as I expected the pear and beet cream to be mixed with the cheese filling, and then served over tomato sauce. In fact, the red beetroot WAS the«sauce,» as shown in my photo, and the ravioli were loaded atop with poppy seeds. I must say this dish did not hit me. The cheese filling was nice, but I could not get past the poppy seeds and beets. It did not seem a pleasant combination in my tastebuds’ opinion. But just because my dish was a miss for me does not mean I would not recommend the Place itself. Everyone else’s food was delicious, and the atmosphere was utterly adorable. A good mix of locals and tourists. I loved the restaurant, if not my particular dish. A great place for lunch on a rainy Florence day.

We browsed quite a few menus at several places before deciding on this restaurant. We selected a few items to share — Florentine steak, potato ravioli with mushrooms, and some good Chianti. The steak was unbelievable! It was medium rare, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The potato and mushroom ravioli was drizzled with a light, cream sauce and it literally melted in my mouth. Service was stellar.

Our first night in Florence we browsed a few menus before settling on this spot. I was eager to try a Florentine steak in Italy and the one served really delivered. As a starter I also sampled a delicious potato and mushroom ravioli. Good wine and service also.
