Lampredetto sandwich was amazing, the cows lower stomach. Served hot on fresh bread from a street vendor. They serve it with a salty and spicy green and red sauce. Sandwich was out of this world. I would try another one at a market in the center of town that was also amazing.

It takes some effort to find this eating spot — well worth it. Definitely a working mans place. I was the outsider, ok, but they were all very nice to the stranger. Filled my order fast and explained what sauces were. Very good food. I like tripe, I loved this sandwich, did not have room for a bowl of the Tripa. Next trip. Best wishes for future success. Good food reasonable prices, soda and beer available.

This cart was totally a hidden gem and find for my trip in Italy! This cart made my trip so much more memorable! As the hubby and I were making our way towards the farmers market we saw a bunch of people crowd around this little food cart. Being a curious bee I couldn’t help but go up to it and check out what all the commotion was about. Boy, was I glad the one time in my life for being a curious bee. We saw people eating off of this plastic tray and it was just meat and bread. The smell was delicious! I knew that we had to wait our turn and get our hands on some. what was it? bollito also known as boiled beef. it comes with parsley sauce and chili for 4.50 euros. if you don’t eat super spicy i would ask them to put less chili or remove some. it will make you break into a sweat and numb your tongue. it was worth every penny! the cart is ran by a husband and wife team. it was so good my hubby and i kept thinking of it and decided to come back the next day! i totally recommend coming here and trying the bollito!!! you won’t be disappointed. TRUSTME!!! tips: *if you decide to eat there. you’ll have to wait or if you’re lucky there will be a small spot to eat at their stand. *sells bottled drinks. *euros only no credit card. *speaks limited english. *allows you to take pictures

Holy cow is this the real Florentine deal. Had some kind of local sandwich — Panino Con Lampredetto — and it was magnificent. And just 3 euros. Salsa Verde is a bit spicy, but pleasant. It’s at the north end of the piazza. They also do pasta and entrees.

Hands down the best trippaio in florence. The fact that there’s usually only tuscans there is also a very good indicator. Ottimo.

We were driving back from our trip from Pescara(4 hours south of Florence) and since most of the restaurants we wanted to stop by in Chianti were closed around 2pm(siesta), my friend asked me if I wanted some Lampredotto. Honey, does a chicken lay eggs? It’s an accuired taste, I love tripe, but Lampredotto is different from the tripe I am used too. It’s the 4th and final stomach of the cow. And Lampredotto is a Fiorentine specialty. My stomach started growling knowing full well I will be ordering a Lampredotto sandwich and a bowl of Trippa alla Fiorentine. So my friend takes me to Trippaio di San Frediano and we order two beers and sit on the stools on a warm summer day. My friend orders our sandwiches, which comes with a green spice oil sauce. To die for. I almost ordered another. Then my bowl of Trippa alla Fiorentine comes out, tripe simmered in a tomato sauce with spices and yummy goodness. I think saliva just dripped from the side of my mouth. mamma mia. buonissimo. mangiare felice.
