Monte Oliveto

The cutest, most romantic place you can imagine, with a super friendly owner. Within close walking distance of Florence old town center (Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio etc.) — and even with a garden towards a small forest hill. The breakfast was organic, down to home-​made bread, home-​made cake and different home-​made jams, including a wonderful red pepper jam. We also got tons of tips from the owner, for example for an alternative Christmas market in a magical monastery-​like town square away from the tourist streams, and for a mini restaurant/​wine celler with excellent, reasonably priced food. Both places we would have never found just by ourselves! If you manage to get a room this should be your first choice for a romantic, quiet time in Tuscany! Can’t wait to go there again!
