Tuscan Wine Tours

This wine tour has to be one of the major highlights of my Italy trip! Went to the small town of Carmignano with a group of 6. Although the weather was quite foggy that day, we were able to experience the countryside of Florence and it was awesome. The homemade food was by far one of the best things I’ve eaten… in my life! An incredible experience that I recommend for all!

We had a wonderful day with Tom and 3 other couples on the full day ‘Super Tuscan’ tour.
Great wineries, not too long a drive, great food at Dario Cecchini’s place in Panzano, thorough and super knowledgeable guide … really just a wonderful, wonderful day.
The only reason I gave it 4 vs 5 stars is that this is NOT really a super thorough tasting in each of the 3 stops. We enjoyed wonderful wine, but it wasn’t a California style slow, steady examining of each wine. Strong pours, yes, but we’d rather have 5 or 6 smaller tastings rather than 3 or 4 taller pours to get a more thorough examination of different vintages and qualities, and spend the time comparing and contrasting them rather than «here’s the white, here’s the Classico, here’s the Reserva.»
Not a knock, not bad by any stretch, just our preference and why I didn’t give it 5 stars (which is «perfect» in my book).

I could not recommend this tour more! We did the Chianti Classico tour which is half day, but I could easily have done a whole day. It starts with a 45min intro into wine tasting and the region which I thought would be boring but it was great! We learned about how to hold the glass, how to smell wine, what to look for in the colour, etc. and it was all done in a fun way. Then we made the short trip to the Chianti region in an airconditioned bus (with wifi!), hearing about the region and the grapes on the way there. Then we visited 2 wineries with lunch at one. Lunch was delicious and the wines were outstanding! Don’t hesitate based on he price, it’s worth every euro.

We had the most amazing wine tour led by Rebecca.
The Vines and Villas tour was recently added, and we were lucky enough to get to be one of the first to experience this spectacular outing. Great wine, intimate, and educational tours, stunning views, and Rebecca was just fabulous. If 6 stars were an option I would give it 6.

We were hesitant booking a tour without any prior recommendation from anyone. We found this tour randomly on the internet and ended up booking it based on it’s positive reviews. Those reviews didn’t do the tour justice. The professionalism of the tour from every aspect was very much appreciated. They offered clear communication throughout the process, from order confirmations to meeting times, everything was dialed. Our guide, Matteo, was extremely knowledgable, fun, entertaining, and made the day an unforgettable experience.
The cost seemed a bit expensive at the time, not compared to other tours, but in budgeting for our trip. I can say, I would happily have paid double in hindsight. The tour is more than worth the money. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Italy. We can’t wait to go back.

Did the Chianti Classico tour yesterday. Loved it! A great way to spend a few hours away from the crowds of Florence.
I appreciated the intro to wine and the region prior to heading out. The drive was lovely and not too long.
Both tours were great, loved the wines and the food too. Came home with wine and olive oils.

I did the Super Chianti wine tour and it was my husband and my favorite thing about our two week vacation. I had never done a wine tour (just driving and tasting) and was concerned that the experience might be a bit cookie cutter or feel very commercial. This tour was not, I am so glad I trusted the reviews. We went to two wineries, both of which were excellent. We tried fantastic cheese, and even got to have lunch at the crazy butchers. You can tell the care that this company puts in to selecting the stops.
One of the best things was our guide and driver for the day, Aasa. She was great. She was very knowledgeable and humorous, and explained the history of wine in Italy in a way that was understandable. I’d take the tour again just to hang out with her.

We took the Chianti Classico wine tour today by Grape Tours after it had been highly recommended to us by some friends. The tour offered an informative start at the Tuscan Wine School where we were offered an intro into the region and regulations that cover Chianti Classico (think similar to the rules governing champagne) and were taught how to properly taste wine coupled with hands on instruction, the most important/​best part.
After our intro we were driven by one of our guides to a plaza that overlooks the city for a brief picture and onto the Tuscan countryside we went.
First winery stop was at Casa Sola which was a beautiful small production winery outside a mountain village with traditional Tuscan buildings that gave us the exact experience we were looking for. The wine maker gave us a tour of his vineyard with extensive discussion on the growing and harvesting process (awesome) and more detailed background on the history of the region and wine. After, we were able to taste two generations of their chianti classico and some estate made oil oil, yum!
Second stop was at Casa Emma which was a bit larger winery with wonderful views and an updated and classy tasting room. Here we learned about the second half of the wine making process of fermentation, storing and bottling. We tasted 5 different wines, olive oil and balsamic vinegar (best I have ever had) with an amazing lunch of cured meats, cheeses and gnocchi.
Our guide/​driver Marc said he was new but acted like a pro, he was knowledgable and friendly. Overall it was a wonderful experience. Many thanks to the guides and wine makers who were wonderful hosts and answered all my endless questions.
TLDR: Great tours of boutique wineries operated by knowledgable staff with delicious wines and lunch included (Chianti Classico).
