Wash & Dry

I’m no stranger to a do it yourself coin laundry, so this was not difficult for me to figure out. I’m visiting from the states and I packed light, I found this coin wash here on Unilocal.For those of you that are not used to one It works like this, put 10 euro in the machine it will spit out 2 tokens and (2) 1 euro
One wash machine cost one token which is equivalent to 4 euro the machine next to the token machine is where you can purchase soap, fabric softener or a laundry bag (see photo for prices) it reads the machine does not give change so be wary of what you put in their! Especially those of you not a custom to euros.
So I put 1 euro in the slot and pushed 7 to release the soap. Out pops this foil packet of soap from the left side of the machine. Then I put my laundry in the machine (correction to the photos I posted 7 small front loaders and 4 large front loaders) then I put the soap in and went to insert one token only to find out it wasn’t excepting tokens… No.5 not marked! (Ding 1 star) but I hadn’t poured in all the soap so after I transferred my clothes, selected water temperature and token excepted, I put the soap in. Once your wash is complete it will stop, transfer the wet items to the dryer and pop in your second token and press start. This location is very small, yet clean and efficient. I got a little soap on my hand and wished they had a place to wash. But I won’t sing them for that. The wash was about 30 min and the dry was about the same. They have two carts to transfer the wet to the dryer. (Sorry missed photo op) bench seating fits about mmm 4 – 6 people. Also seen another machine behind the door might have drinks, I’m not sure it said it did but I didn’t try to buy one. Hope this helps anyone. Stay fresh!

Solid, not much to add that hasn’t already been said about this place. So I’ll just say it quickly.
Get small bills, preferably coins (1E coins and 2E coins). 4 euro for a machine (aka, one token from their machine) or 8 euro for the bigger machine (2 tokens). Also, 4 euro (1 token) for the dryer.
+ 1 more euro for detergent, we spent 9 euros total to use the big machine, the dryer, and get one package of detergent. We didn’t see or get any dryer sheets.
They also didn’t have a change machine, but there are plenty of little bars and shops around that can help you with change (but you might have to try 2 – 3 of them to find enough coins).
Thanks for helping us with our wardrobe on our Italian Holiday! We were a family from California that needed to wash a few things for the rest of our stay, haha

traveling light meant laundry… token-​operated wash and dry… couple laundromats in the area with varying prices (noticed 2 others in the area few small blocks apart)…some more expensive and some cheaper, but shorter cycles… wash & dry 1 € detergent…4 € wash 30 minutes…4 € dry 30 minutes… non-​energy efficient front-​load washer, so using a ton of water for clean clothes…30 minutes of drying enough time for most items… thicker clothing will require additional hang dry back in the room or another round in the dryer… bringing chips and beer to pass time… restroom at the bar directly across… all the laundromats are quite small, but have bench seating inside and tables to fold… cart too…

True self service laundromat, wash and dry yourself. Must purchase tokens to use the machines, 4 euros for a wash and another 4 for dry. Plus soap, 1 euro. Easy to find with several other locations in Florence.

Of the 6 or 7 laundromats we visited in Italy, this one was the best. Plenty of machines to use, easy to get change, worked quickly, clean place, plenty of seating. Also easy to walk to from downtown.

We were having a semi-​laundry crisis during our trip to Italy. This place was open till 11:30 pm and was only 4 blocks away from our hotel.
They have change machines and laundry soap dispensers.
Each wash and dry cost around 4 Euros. You get a notched token for the washers and dryers. The machines are state-​of-​the-​art and wash under 30 minutes and the dryers actually dry your entire load in 30 minutes or less
Not cheap but much much cheaper than having to pay the hotel for each item.
We met a very sweet fellow traveler named Kyle from Australia who was making a trip
all over the world. We hoped to meet him again but didn’t. Kyle showed us a nifty Trip Advisor app for my cell phone that didn’t require wi-​fi to work.

Ease of use. You can read in Italian or English! As someone else pointed out, bring small bills for token machine. 2 tokens for large machine. They sell detergent and fabric softener for 1 euro. Note it says 30 minutes for wash and 30 minutes for dry but takes a little longer. Grab a bite or drink across the street while you wait.

Bring small bills. The token machine is difficult to understand (at least for us) and inserting 20 euros gave us 5 tokens with no option for change.
Each token is 4 euro. Large machine is two tokens; small machine one token. 30 minutes of dryer 1 token. Detergent one euro.
Very clean. Friendly clientele. One hour start to finish. Located near the piazza San Maria novella.
