Oh. My. Gosh. This was our first actual meal in Italy. We had a stop in genoa en route to Florence. I was so excited to be done eating French food and finally on to some good, home-cooked Italian food. We each ordered a single glass of wine; two different kinds. One detail that I thought was really nice was that they allowed each of us to taste a single glass. I ordered the gnocchi with pesto. We had fresh grated Parmesan cheese in a bowl and all the ingredients were fresh made the same day. While this was a really happy meal to have, it was delicious. My fiancé had some sort of salad with tuna and sardines on it. Not exactly my style, but he said it was delicious. Our service was really great and it was refreshing to be greeted by friendly people. This was a city that I could’ve spent the day exploring. After leaving I looked into it a little bit more and it seemed like there were many great things to see and discover. Maybe I’ll be back someday.

At 1PM the restaurant is empty! The Italians eat later in the afternoon. Nevertheless, everything here is fresh & delicious. Perfect for Americans who like to eat at our regular times. My lunch was excellent, as good as you can get anywhere. Note; Being in Italy during the Christmas season is splendid. Tasteful American, Christmas music, is always playing in the background in the hotels and restaurants which adds an air of holiday spirit with none on the commercial static that we get in the states. Kind of sophisticated! I’ll definitely do Christmas in Italy again.
