Aperitivo is the best! Pay for a drink and get«unlimited» finger foods? The Italians need to bring this concept to the states. I originally mistook aperitivo as an equivalent to the American happy hour, but the idea behind the food is so that you open up your stomach for a larger meal to come(not create a meal and get full on finger sandwiches and pizzas). For 7 € each, we got a gigantic spritzer and piled on our first plate of food. The quality of the bread and meats was higher than what we saw at neighboring restaurants, although the selection was limited to sandwiches of various fillings and two pizzas, a white and a tomato pie. The spritzer was more alcoholic than it lead on, and we found ourselves going up for a second and third plate of food to balance it all out. The ambiance was very relaxed and you could find a table that matched your aperitivo style: outdoors, bar style on the main level, and quieter tables half a level below. For the price, I would highly recommend Princi for any group of friends looking for a pre-dinner drink/snack.

Very friendly service! It’s very odd to me that the food places in Italy generally don’t allow photos to be taken of their food — not sure what privacy laws are being violated there. Had the latte macchiato, freshly squeezed OJ with pulp, and the apricot jam brioche. Took the sbrisolona to go. Everything was great except the sbrisolona. This was the first time I tried one so perhaps it’s just not appealing to me but whole hazelnuts in there just got in the way of my tasting experience(maybe chopped ones would be a smoother experience). Plus it was just a little hard overall. There was a lot of pulp in the OJ and the brioche was flaky(yum).

Lovely pastry shop with a small section of lunch specials: pasta, risotto and salad. I stop by while walking from Brera district to Castello Sforzesco, and I am so glad I decided to get my quick lunch there! The place is bigger than what it seems, with outside, and inside dining areas. It is highly frequented from locals, people who work in office nearby and milanese ladies. Go and remember to look at the stylish people walk-in!
