The whole staff at The Yard has been amazing. We started out trip to Italy in Milan at The Yard and from the moment we got here everyone has been outstanding! The room was great, breakfast incredible and above all the staff was outstanding. They helped me mail a package home due to the language barrier and were more then helpful. I would recommend this hotel over and over again and hope to one day visit again.

I arrived pretty jetlagged from my long haul flight from Singapore. My room wasn’t ready yet so I chilled out in the lobby as it was cozy and had lots of comfy couches. The décor is super funky and the concierge were all really nice. The lady who served coffee and breakfast is super nice. I ate some breakfast and had an espresso then practically napped on the couch afterwards. I walked around and then came back to my room. The room they gave me was American themed. hahahaha. I had a good laugh. Cleverly designed room, nice furniture, lots of space, very funky sporty décor. The attention to detail and the fact that they are so hospitable is cause enough for me to want to return and stay here. The C.O. Bigelow bath products are also a nice touch and reminded me of New York. I love funky boutique hotels and this is probably one of my favorite places I’ve stayed in. I also loved the free breakfast and yummy espresso I had every morning.

This place is a must must must! So hip, so chick, so nice & classy! I traveled 4 months out of the year around Europe from my suitcase last year; no I was not a backpacker, fortunately I can afford to stay at nice hotels. I would say The Yard Suite & Dependence was the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Milan. Last year alone I had stayed in 6 Milan hotels total.(I’ve been traveling to Milan since 2002 and hotels are usually a joke in this particular city if you have a budget of less than $ 300/night). For people who are visiting in Milan for the first time, Milan is an extremely unfriendly city for experienced tourists who have high expectations for hotels. The Yard Suite & Dependence was so nice and I hadn’t realized how hip Porta Ticinese was for my age so I extended my stay for 2 more nights. Every room is themed and I really liked the«Polo Suite» which is beautiful, comfortable and how you want your apartment back in LA to look like. Massive, quality buffet breakfast in the morning. Quality is the operative word. I love the attention to detail and staff is really brilliant. I also liked how they honored my quote on Hotels Tonight(which was cheaper than what was listed) when I extended my stay for 2 more nights. If anyone reading this is a member of Soho House… this hotel’s lobby should be the Milan chapter … it’s so friendly for intimate social gatherings. I honestly will go back to Milan more often now that I have a friendly place to stay at… Also travelers in Italy: Please beware, Italy is notorious for false ratings on Tripadvisor… many hotel owners pay a freelance company to makeup ratings. I have stayed at 6 out of the top 10 hotels rated in Milan from Tripadvisor. The Yard Suite & Dependance is the ONLY one(aside from Four Seasons — which is way to expensive for most people) that is legit & real. Also if you are in Italy and sick of Italian… and like vegan/raw food the restaurant in the courtyard will transport you back to the Bay area :)

Of all the hotels I’ve visited in the world The Yard really stands out! Amazing service(no matter what you ask about), superb location, great breakfast + very cool/different rooms. All styled after a certain sport. The best of all is the lobby with lovely coaches, chairs and tables. VERY trendy but without being too minimalistic. This place got more SOUL than James Brown! :-) Could not have stayed in a better hotel. CLASS! And it is not that more expensive than most other hotels in Milano.

The Yard was ok for the price you paid(about $ 400 a night), considering things in Milano ain’t cheap. The room was nice. The location was about 25 minutes walk from the the Duomo/City Central. It was close to the cannel which was very happening at night for bar hopping and dining. We went to a Michelin Star restaurant on the cannel which was the highlight(forgot the name). But, the pictures on the website failed to show that the Yard is located in an apartment style building across from another residential building and you had these pretty ugly tiled corridors that screams ‘needs a major renovation’. The shower area(with tub) looked like you are staying at some average Joe’s house(very basic tub and shower). These are not shown on the hotel’s website. Breakfast was good, with items on the Buffett changed periodically. Service was good. Overall, 3.5. I would stay in a nicer property but picked the hotel based on raving trip advisor reviews but found the pictures a little misleading.

I LOVEDSTAYINGATTHEYARD! I stayed at Safari suites by myself so it was very spacious. Everybody working at the hotel was so friendly and helpful. One of my co-worker’s purse was stolen at the restaurant we ate. We had to go to the police station late at night. It was just before the front desk was closing, so the owner gave his cell number so we can call him if we ran into some troubles. Loved the breakfast room and breakfast! Good location and room rate is not bad at all. I definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and co-workers. One of the best hotels I stayed in Italy.
