Uptown Palace

You will likely end up booking an «Americanized» hotel in Milan, may as well book the best… Uptown Palace. Super modern décor and amenities, great customer service, near Milan P. Romana station. The Presidential Suite has a gorgeous view of the Duomo. Most gorg at night. Can be viewed from the bed or plush chaise lounge because of the floor to ceiling windows. Power operated drapes from the bed tables. Roomy balcony as well. Jacuzzi tub for 2 and X-​large bathroom will make you linger. Robes and house shoes that actually fit.

A modern hotel in an old city. We decided to stay here since it is walking distance from most of Milan’s sights at a reasonable price (under $ 500/​nt). Breakfast was included for us and the buffet was great. There was a server for drinks (coffee/​cappuccino). The only wifi that was free was available with codes from the front desk, and worked only in the lobby. So, if you wanted room wifi, they have packages for that. The room and amenities were really nice. I love it when hotels offer you slippers! Bed was comfortable and splits into a double. The restroom was clean with a nice set of toiletries. Window was small and there wasn’t much of a view. Overall I enjoyed staying here but not somewhere I’d keep going back. Lacked a wow factor for me.

Super cool, modern clean hotel. Very convenient to to Il Duomo and the center. Staff is super helpful. Double sinks in the bathrooms which was a huge plus and the room was beautiful. Of note, the lobby controls your AC not you. Our first night we were miserable but the maid told us we needed to as the lobby to set the ac. So once we called the lobby and asked them to put the temperature down we had no problems.

We are in Italy to celebrate our anniversary and it happened to fall on the night we were in Milan. We emailed the hotel in advance that we were there to celebrate and asked for restaurant recommendations. Anyway at arrival we were told we had an upgrade and when I saw the room I was shocked. It was tiny– made me wonder what the king room I had originally booked really must look like. Called the reception to ask if I could change rooms– the woman was extremely obnoxious and asked me to pay her 40 euro extra a night for a smaller room with the duomo view. And 570 euro extra a night for a suite. Just for your information this is NOT A Luxury hotel. The hotel staff– bagon, Sara and Angelica who were always at the front desk did not even smile and greet us with a good morning afternoon even once out of the several times we walked in and out of the hotel. We asked to reserve a wine bar and restaurant for the night of our anniversary and realized the 2 places we chose were half an hour apart so requested the concierge (bogdan) to cancel and make a change to which he responded he would not make changes once again. The service here is nothing less than absolute crap and I have no clue why people have given this hotel good ratings. If you care to be treated well do NOT stay here. Ruined my mood for the 2 days that we were in Milan. The location is average and there are much better hotels close to the duomo. Bed and shower/​bathroom are clean and comfy but that’s about it. Hated this hotel and strongly would urge trip advisor readers to stay away from it. Also must add that the hotel was empty since it is off season– yet they could not give us a room with a half decent view– we booked way in advance. Worst staff and service I have ever experienced at a hotel.

Uptown Palace is a good choice if your looking for a modern hotel with good standard and proximity to the city center. You can easily walk to Duomo in ten minutes and there is also a metro stop one block from the hotel.
The rooms are ok size with a fresh and roomy bathroom. I especially liked the overhead shower. The breakfast was enjoyable and the staff are all friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the sluggish wifi. Also, I would recommend Unilocal over the receptionist when looking for a nice restaurant. Other than that I had a great stay!

Uptown Palace — MGallery Collection is a simple but pretty Design Hotel with some extra touch of elegance. The hotel is situated just a short walk from the Missori underground station (Yellow Line), from the Piazza Duomo cathedral square and from Milan’s most famous shopping streets. Its 158 sound-​proofed rooms which beds have LinoVivo bed linen (the only 4-​star hotel in Milan to offer this plus) and the latest generation of Simmons mattresses.
Our rooms, clean — well and elegant furnished (around 220 – 250 € per room & per night without breakfast) have cute views of the cathedral. Too bad the WiFi connection wasnt satisfying — as I’ve been to Italy for some times already, it wasnt a surprise anymore. Wish they would improve in the near future.
The staffs, thankfully, have a great conduct of english.
