Revision: The server brought me the bill and stated the tip, our service fee, was not included. Not true! Most all restaurants here include a 10% sevicio charge on your bill so the government can tax all tips. Italians rarely leave additional tip. I used the toilet down stairs and there was black mold everywhere. See the pictures I posted. It is a shame, I enjoyed the food and beer. The services were exeptional. We split a pizza mahgerita and each had an order of spaghetti Bolognese. The waiter asked if we wanted the food all at once or just the pizza first, we said whatever. The pizza can first. Very good. Afterwards, he bought the spaghetti. Very nice.

Let me start by saying the meal was amazing. Now you’re wondering why one star. It’s because of the waiter attempting to take advantage of the pitiful American tourist. The gig started when he asked me in fairly good English if I would give him a dollar. One dollar is all, he said. He told me, again in pretty good English, that he liked to collect a dollar from different countries to add to his collection. I had no dollars so he was out of luck. But I just can’t help but wonder how many foreigners he asks that same question to each night. Probably enough to get several dollars worth. Then, after a delicious meal, he brought me the check and explained to me that gratuity is not included in Italy. I could clearly see on the ticket a nice 15% gratuity charge however. Then when I paid with my card, he told me I would need to leave a tip in cash. Again, he was out of luck. It really turned a good experience into feeling hustled. I’m sure if you are a savvy traveler or an Italian speaking person this would not be a problem. But it was a problem for me.
