.Darn.thing ive eaten in Italy thus far. Tucked away in the Spanish Quarters is this treasure of local street food. In pieced together Italian& gestures I fumbled my way around. The place is tiny and as you enter immediately to your left is the preparation table. Two wooden trays stacked with fresh dough and 4 bowls containing: riccotta, mozzarella, prosciutto and marinara. Thats it. You select your toppings or if you are a glutten like me you choose them all. The gentleman owner will pile your choices onto the dough, neatly folding it into a calzone like figure and then will pop it into a put filled with hit grease lit by a gas flame. You can take it to go or sit at one of the 3chairs lining the table on the wall. Hand over 2Euro & you are near bliss. Nom nom nom. I am so grateful to Unilocal and the locals who reviewed this place nearly two years ago. And thanks to the owner for his patience. I was totally clueless when i walked in. Forgive the typos because I am sitting at Dante piazza scarffing the 2nd pizza fritte I ordered to go. This was indeed a little reminder of home. Salute to everything deep fried!
