This place is incredible and charming. The least of this is due to the fact that it’s in a cave.
Pepe and his wife are warm, friendly, and extremely talented: the ingredients are fresh (a lot of it from Pepe’s farm), there is no menu (Pepe will describe what he can prepare for you), and the prices are very reasonable.
Our conversation with Pepe was also memorable: he switched between Italian, English, some French, and excellent German. It was a pleasure meeting him.
This has been, without a doubt, the best meal we’ve had in Italy. No joke. Don’t skip this place.

This will be a short review, but a very positive one. This is truly a «hole in the wall» place, since you can eat in a dining room that is inside a natural cave of volcanic rock. Great setting and the food is a simple 1 – 2 course price fixe with house wine, served by the chef and perhaps one waiter. Unique, reasonably priced and well worth a visit. Food is simple, fresh and tasty.
