First, we arrived just before they would close for riposo, and they welcomed us. We were waved through the first room and onto a courtyard where an additional dining space is located. The owner’s son explained to us how long we would need to wait after realising we spoke English not Italian. Once seated, he recommended some antipasto we might enjoy, and we did. Buffalo mozzarella with prosciutto and arugala, and some bruschetta, not to mention the delicious olives. Everything in the dish was fresh and absolutely scrumptious. After we completed the antipasto, we again took up his suggestions for a first course(which was the end of our meal in this case). The sugo sauce was smooth and delicious, and the pasta was al dente as expected. On the contrary, the all’arrabbiata sauce was extraordinary, with exceptional flavour and spice. Most definitely the best dishes we’ve had on our trip so far. The staff was very welcoming and the food was the only thing that could trump it. Update: We returned for dinner the next night, and the experience was even better than lunch before. You truly are made to feel welcome here and it is worth the visit. Do not come here if you want to rush through your meal, this is a unique location that deserves all of the time you can spend on it.

On our trip to Italy, we have had many fantastic meals, from the canals of Venice to the hills of Tuscany, to the rocky cliffs of Southern Italy. At no other restaurant was our entire experience from top to bottom as excellent as it was in Trattoria Add’ U’ Mimi’ in Pompei. Our waiter Roberto, was also the owner of this restaurant, and his passion for Italian cooking was apparent right from the start. He walked us through the menu and gave recommendations and lovingly detailed explanations of all the various dishes and wines. His passion, generosity, and kindness are genuinely heartwarming and he makes you feel like a part of the family. And I’m just an American from Boston/Providence. Our meal was fantastic as well. We had an antipasto plate with prosciutto, bruschetta, fresh olives, buffalo mozzarella, and a perfectly ripe melon. We do not have melons like this in the USA, it was so fresh, juicy, and delicious. My wife and I both had the spaghetti aioli e olio(with olive oil, garlic, chile, and anchovies) for our primi course. It was the best aioli I’ve had aside from my Italian Grandmothers that she makes on Christmas Eve. Next we had the Sea Bass. I had it grilled, and my wife had it cooked in a special way that was not on the menu based off Roberto’s recommendation. It was made with a delicate and light white wine based sauce. The fish was cooked perfectly, served whole(as it should be) and the taste was very fresh and delicate. A nice tomato salad and grilled vegetables were served on the side. To top it off, the desert was simply divine, a buffalo ricotta tart with pear, finished with a wonderful complimentary house made fennel liquer. I can not recommend this place enough. If you go to Pompeii, go for the mystery of the ruins, but stay for Add’ U’ Mimi’. The passion and love of Roberto make this experience a quintessential part of any trip to this area. Only here will you feel the love, warmth, and pride of an Italian family, even as an outsider.

We have visited Roma, Pompeii, and Positano on our vacation. Without a doubt Add’u’ Mimmi’ served us the best meal in Italy. Fantastic seafood, amazing gnocchi and delicious ossobucco. Ask your waiter for advice. Be open to suggestions. You can just feel the pride they have in their work. As an aside, an old man was«calling us in» outside the restaurant. His smoker’s voice and accent made him nearly unintelligible. But right away I knew I liked him. By the end of the night we were watching futball together and drinking wine.

My most memorable meals in Italy in 2015 were: Rome: the roasted porchetta sandwich at Pane e Arte(x2… I went twice in one day) Lido di Camaiore: also a sandwich place! I panini d’Adone Siena: The place with really good gnocchi. And the place with amazing tiramisu place inside the horse race track. Florence: Trattoria Bordino, hands down. 1.1kg medium rare steak grilled to perfection. And tiramisu. Napoli: Pizzeria Trianon(twice, so both hands down! slam that table!) And in Pompei: this place. The gnocchi. The pear tarte. My friend and I ordered it — then ordered it again. It’s the only time we had the same slice of dessert twice in a row. The entrance can be a little bit difficult to find, but it’s worth the search.

Seriously, I can’t say enough good things about this place! I found them on Unilocal. We were starving, and we had walked around all over before my sister was ready to eat. The staff was amazingly friendly! It wasn’t a huge deal that we didn’t speak Italian– I mean I tried– but they didn’t hold that against us. I felt like part of the family! GO! Go there now!

This was the best restaurant experience we had in Italy. We ate at this restaurant twice for dinner on consecutive nights in Pompeii. The food is delicious, reasonably priced, and service was great. The first night, we tried the octopus salad, fresh mozzarella and rocket(arugala), spaghetti with ragu, hand made taglietelle with eggplant and tomatoes, and the grilled swordfish. We finished up with a homemade ricotta and pear tart. All of the dishes were outstanding, but the ones on the top of the list were the handmade taglietelle and the pear tart. The second night we had the calamari, bruschetta, fresh mozzarella and rocket, whole trout, and the seafood pasta with parsley, and the pear tart for dessert. The owner was extremely friendly to us and helped us with the ordering. We even saw Roger Waters from Pink Floyd dining that night too

Outstanding restaurant. Delicious authentic food. Very attentive staff. Extensive wine list. Owner spends a good deal of his time helping you select courses without any pressure to choose too much food. Prices were also very reasonable.

Even I was alone to visit here they welcomed me in good way. I had water, house wine, espresso, Caprese and seafood pasta. Ordinal menu but remarkable taste. 21.8 euro for total. I recommend here.

The house wine is excellent and only 5 Euro! The food is also very good. We found this restaurant by Unilocal.Although we cannot read the menu in Italian, we ordered by photos in Unilocal.I will tell my friends this restaurant if they travel to Italy. 这家店的自制红酒非常赞,而且只要5欧!超值!!店里的意大利面和牛排也很不错,虽然看不懂他家的意大利文菜单,但根据Yelp上po的图片就可以点了,不会有错的!推荐

The dining experience here was our absolute FAVORITE of Europe! Our group of six stumbled upon this place while looking for a lunch spot in Pompeii. We were greeted by an older gentleman who led us through a garden area to a quaint dining room in the back. There, we met the owner, Roberto who personally welcomed us and served our group. He took time to go over the menu with us and offered his recommendations. Everything we ordered from the calamari, to the seafood pasta, to the pear cake, had a wonderful, authentic taste to it and was fantastic. There were even a few things that Roberto gave us on the house for us to try! You could not go wrong with any of the dishes. He went above and beyond to make sure we were well-taken care of. At one point, Roberto even sat down to talk with us. He shared about himself, his family and the rich history of his restaurant. We were really touched by his genuineness and hospitality. His passion and commitment to the quality of food and service to his customers was so evident and it’s what makes this place special. If you plan to visit Pompeii and are looking for a place with a great and comfortable atmosphere, quality food, and exceptional service, do yourself a favor and dine at Add’ u’ Mimi’. I can’t recommend this place enough. This review is long overdue, but our experience at this restaurant was so memorable, I had to write one after all this time. Thank you, Roberto for making our Europe trip a wonderful blessing. We hope to visit again one day!

This place lives up to the Unilocal reputation. Took our family here for lunch after a day at Pompeii. Roberto and team live up to the hype! Food and drink was amazing… Don’t miss it.

Personalized attention, great food, respite from the Pompeii heat. Advice: ask for the local specialties rather than the stereotypical Italian food. (Other advice: use a navigator to get there. It’s not directly at the historic sites but worth the small journey when you’re done with Pompeii and a welcome escape from places taking advantage of tourists.)

Note: this restaurant will be closed from July 20th to August 5th. Came with my family. Was enthusiastically greeted by the grandfather at the front door and led to a table outside in the back garden terrace. Ordered caprese(so fresh!), prosciutto e melone(delicious), and the gnocchi alla sorrentina(probably the best I’ve had, and I just came from Sorrento). Finished off the meal with a 2 day old limoncello and slice of delicious ricotta and pear pie. Roberto is the most charming!

A great restaurant in Pompeii. We had such a wonderful lunch here yesterday that we had to come back for dinner and are headed back again tonight! Best place to eat in Pompeii, hands down. We were treated like family the moment we walked in the door. Roberto and company left nothing to be desired. My wife had the best gluten free pasta here since arriving in Italy two weeks ago. The house wine is wonderful. You can’t beat the price either! 5 euro for a bottle! Very great food at even better prices. You can’t put a price on being treated like family and not a tourist. Roberto is a genuinely good guy who cares about each and every one of his customers. A+.

This is my first Unilocal review, which should be a testament to the food and service which was so amazing that I finally felt compelled to write one. If you decide to actually stay in Pompeii overnight, you would be squandering an incredible opportunity to taste true southern Italian food as well as incredible wine(the best and cheapest I’ve had in Italy yet) if you decide to go elsewhere. I could go on and on about this fantastic restaurant, but invite you to experience it for yourself. A must eat if you are in Pompeii.

The best meal we had so far in Italy was at Add’u’ Mimi. The food was so fresh and authentic with impeccable service from the owner Roberto. He suggested two homemade pasta dishes for the first course, and grilled prawns for secondi. And concluded with his very own in-house digestifs, which was more refreshing and easy to drink than limoncello. We would be back in a heartbeat the next time we’re visiting Napoli.

The experience at this restaurant was beyond amazing. The food and hospitality here was so good that my friends and I came here twice in one day. If you visit Pompeii, in my opinion you absolutely MUST come to this restaurant. The host was so personable and kind. He explained the preparation of the food so well that we just wanted to get everything. For lunch we had seafood pasta, mixed grilled seafood and pasta with eggplants and tomatoes. All 3 were incredible. For dinner I had the veal. Calamari for appetizer. Both delicious. Dessert here is spectacular, loved the buffalo ricotta with pear cake! This was the best place we have been to in all of Italy. Loved the experience and if I am ever back in Pompeii I will be sure to visit.

Thanks to the other reviews on Unilocal,my friends and I found this place for lunch before our trip to Mt. Vesuvius. Food was absolutely delicious and possibly one of the best I have had during our 10 days journey all over Italy. We had mix grilled sea food plate, pasta with clams and egg plant pasta. I would recommend these to everyone. Service was fantastic and friendly as well. Definitely go here If you are in the area.

We had dinner here our first night in Pompei. We came back again for lunch the next day. This is one of the best meals I had in Naples. Great service, great food and the price was really reasonable. The menu was in Italian but the waiter speaks English. He gave us really good recommendations. I went with a friend who lives in Naples and he said the food was really authentic and good. For dinner, we had large prawns with pasta, mussels and clam, octopus, and their home made wine. They also make their own pasta. For lunch we had steak, fried shrimp & calamari, prosciutto & melon and mix pasta with muscles. Definitely eat here if you are in Pompei!

This is without a doubt the restaurant with the best service in Pompeii and surroundings! And the food is good to! I’ve been here two times in my short stay in Pompeii and we’ve eaten here with much pleasure! I can surely recommend eating here. The owner Roberto is very kind and helps as much as possible with choosing a nice dish. I will be back for shure!
