Perfekter Service, sehr nettes Personal und tolles Essen! Wir waren an 2 Abenden Essen und waren jedes Mal absolute zufrieden! Wir haben Pizza, Fleisch und Fisch gegessen und es war alles sehr gut! Das Ambiente und die Lage fanden wir auch super!
Also sehr zu empfehlen!

First mediocre meal in Rome. I ordered a salad and it was mostly cheap Iceberg lettuce, it was obvious that was corn was canned corn. The pizza was not great. My daughter had fettuccine, it tasted pretty good. Otherwise pretty subpar. The service was extremely slow. We won’t be coming back.

Food was pretty decent, but the portion size of my ravioli was quite small. Only 4 pieces for 12 euro.
I also wasn’t thrilled by the surprise service charge of 2 euro/​person, which was noted on the bill as «bread». Highest service charge of anywhere we ate in Italy, and no advance notice.

Recommended by our hotel staff and just steps away. We went 3 times over 2 days and had wonderful experiences. Pasta, pizza, appetizers and wines by the glass all superb and modestly priced. The spaghetti carbonera and lasagna were particular winners. The service was also very good — friendly and efficient.

Every time I am in Roma, I go here for the gnocchi al pomodoro. If you like gnocchi, I would challenge you to find better anywhere in the city.

Went there for dinner last night as it was close and had good reviews, but sadly we had to spend an hour just looking for a parking spot!
When we finally sat down and ordered, the waiter apologized for the kitchen was very busy and we would have to wait for the food to come-​putting the wine on the house. (But when the check came the wine was still charged)
The food was very good, as with many other Italian restaurants in Rome. The waitress began as very friendly but, at some point in the meal, got very rude and snarky at some point.
We were very sad to hear that they were out of lemon sorbet, but what was very annoying is that every few minutes a waiter or waitress would say «it’s good right?»… Kind of gets rough when you hear it so often… Honestly I wouldn’t come back but if you’re in the neighbourhood than it makes sense.

Great restaurant. Very friendly staff, and the food is really really good. We ate there twice we had the pasta with sea food it was amazing and the second time we tried the pizza which also was very delicious. However the 3^rd time we went they made us the wrong order and tried to force it on us. For that reason I give them 3 Stars

We tripped across this gem of a local restaurant during our walk back to the other side of the river after a night tour of the Vatican Museums. It is one of my favorite food memories of Italy — the service was top notch (attentive without being obtrusive), the food just amazingly delicious and well sized (I had the best seafood pasta of my life here — served en papillote style in foil), and the price incredibly reasonable!
I wish we’d had more days in Rome so we could go try other things on their menu — I need to go back someday to try the tiramisu that we overheard our neighboring table raving about. Sadly, we were too full by the end of our meal to get dessert.

Nuestra última noche en Roma fue cerrada con broche de lujo. Pasta al punto con salsas sabrosísimas, rissotto cremoso y rico, tostas que terminas en menos de un minuto… Además nos trataron súper bien. ¡Bravo!

Excellent fresh pasta, great pizza, very good service, location close to Vatican City. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Excellent food at a good price. Servers are nice. Came last night with my wife for dinner and returned today for lunch, bringing along 9 other people. All of them loved it!

The food and service Is Great, close to the Vatican you just have to walk 15 minutes. Don’t go to the restaurants across the streets from the Vatican they are for tourists. It’s worth to walk 15 minutes to go to Calabascio because local people eat there.

Yum yum yum! This restaurant was just up the street from our hotel, and was recommended by our tour guide. We went there as a group of 16 for dinner and everything was great! The menu had a great variety of options and the pricing was less than expected. The service was excellent and fast. I had the gnocchi for dinner and tiramisu for dessert. It was delicious! Probably the best meal I had while in Italy!

Une décoration intérieure soignée plutôt agréable, du personnel très serviable et une cuisine qui nous a séduit ma femme et moi ! Nous avons pris une classique Caprese avec une Bruschetta, les deux étaient très bien assaisonnés et les produits de qualité. Pour le plat, j’ai voulu sortir un peu des sentiers battus avec des pâtes au calamar et basilic, je me suis tout simplement régalé ! Nul doute que nous reviendrons lors de notre prochaine balade dans le quartier. En plus situé entre le Vatican et le Métro, pas d’excuse pour né pas y faire un crochet.

Used Unilocal for the first time to find this delightful place, my wife and I loved it from the moment we got to the front door and were greeted by a the owner. We received the best service by far since our time here in Italy by the waiting staff.
The food was very reasonably priced as well as delicious.
I had a pizza and the wife had the sword fish, she said it was the best piece of sword fish she had eaten.
Followed by a speedy dessert service of a panacotta and tiramasu to die for.

We have been here twice and tried pasta, pizza, salad, bruschetta and panna cotta. The pasta was great, homemade, fresh and al dente. The pizza was also great, Italian style of course with thin bottom. They used fresh ingredients which was noticeable from the taste. The salad was very fresh and the tomatoes really tasted a lot since they must have seen a lot of sunshine. Finally we had quite a hard time to find panna cotta in Rome, but here we found it. Although we had tried better ones, this was ok.
The staff very very friendly and made jokes and so on just to make us feel happy, and we were happy to be here and to eat great food.

Excellent service. Wide selection of pasta dishes, around 12 euros. Pizzas 8 euros. Got a beef dish that was shredded, which came as an unexpected surprise. We spent 135 euros for 6 people including splitting desserts. Not including wine. Except for the weird beef thing we were happy with our choice.

After eating in several fine restaurants in Rome, we had an amazing dinner at Ristorante Calabascio. Our B&B host recommended it as his family’s favorite restaurant. In a lovely neighborhood near the Vatican, Ristorante Calabascio offers a vast menu with moderate prices. Everything we sampled was exceptionally well prepared and delicious. As a notorious wine snob, I will testify that every glass (or bottle) of wine that we drank from their moderately priced selection was excellent.
Eggplant parmesan, mussels, salads, pizza, amazing pasta dishes — everything we ate provided a satisfying and memorable culinary experience.
This is a friendly, fresh, and rustic restaurant in a pleasant neighborhood that’s an easy ten minute stroll from Saint Peter’s Basilica. Our waiter spoke countless languages, and served us flawlessly.
Although we did try other restaurants, we returned many times after our first visit. No other restaurant compared as well, and Ristorante Calabascio always delighted us with their excellent lunches and dinners!
