Treats you like family — THAT is what this place does well. They are warm, inviting, and funny. Welcoming to people from all parts of the globe as if they’ve known you for years. They only serve the best food. Presentation is spot on. Service is spot on. We dined, we wined, and we left satisfied with the money spent and the memories made.

The pasta was excellent, and the veal was pretty sweet too! Had a pretty good custard-filled croissant and a cappuccino here in the morning as well. A cozy atmosphere with nice servers and solid food. We even got free drinks on the house — would come here again for sure.

We came back twice in two days because we loved this place so much. The crust on their pizza is to die for(great bite and sturdiness). Their pasta was cooked perfectly. The carbonara was perfectly rich and savory. The entire staff was warm and friendly. They have English menus available and wifi too! Highly recommend.

My wife and I came to this location soon after arriving in Rome. Hungry after a long train ride and close to our residence … it won out, and it truly won out!!! Atmosphere was very nice. Very lively wait staff that welcomed you whole heartedly. First meal in Rome can’t but be a pasta alla amatriciana(foe those of you don’t know … tomato sauce with bacon … a traditional roman dish) and let me tell you, it was DELICIOUS!!! So incredibly good and their rosemary focaccia also incredible. The one down side if any … small restaurant and a bit cramped but that is the trend in Rome. But honestly who cares!!! Good food at a good price. Enjoy!

I picked up this place after intense search over google maps. It turned out to be the perfect choice. Good food, good vine and hospitality — at its maximum.

This was my first time in Rome and this was easily my favorite restaurant. As with everyone else on this site, I will mention their amazing service. We stayed at a hotel right across the street from here and so we decided to get breakfast there. Simon and Lavinia were friendly, kind, and helpful with the menu to us who don’t understand a lot of Italian. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Because of our breakfast experience, we decided to come back for dinner that same night. The owner, Luca, was incredibly friendly and genuine. He treated us like members of his own family. After sitting down for dinner, we were greeted heartily by our waiter, Salvo. He gave us some suggestions for the menu and he didn’t disappoint; the food was scrumptious. We started with a generous portion of their calamari and it was fresh and tasty. When moving onto the main course, the pasta was homemade and the saltimbocca was delicioso. The mushroom pizza wasn’t fire-oven(forno alegna) made but was quite good. My sister and I liked it enough to come back that night for drinks. They were generous with their pourings and there were even a couple rounds on the house because of the good time we were having. Again our waitress, Eleonora, was friendly and helpful. Also, for those that are tech savvy, they have a terrific wifi connection. Overall, great food, fun environment, and above all else, Amazing Service.

Not only is the food here amazingly delicious(a variety of homemade pasta, bread and desserts, as well as various other delicious dishes), but the service here is absolutely outstanding. Our charming and hilarious waitress, Eris, made sure we were well looked after, as well as giving us a few laughs. It was honestly like having dinner at a relative’s house, and I would go again simply based on the amazing service. The hostess who greeted us was lovely as well, and when we left we saw a line of people who were being treated to beverages and snacks while they waited outside! In all my travels, I had never seen this done before and was wholly impressed. The food is, as I said, of an excellent quality and very well priced. A must if you come to Rome.

dinner visit and finding lax… small, but plenty of tables… bottle of water with gas 2 €…larger beer 5 € and sparkling wine 5 €…complimentary potato chips to snack with drinks… browsing menu finding typical… gnocchi with clams 9,50 €…portions smaller in comparison to other restaurants… finding the gnocchi bit chewy and subpar… taste decent… steak served always rare 18 €, so always request otherwise… taste of beef and no masking with sauces or condiments… decent, but unmemorable…

Went to this place for my last night in Rome, and by far it was the best decision. Took my girlfriend here for our last dinner in Roma. The atmosphere, food and waiters were all amazing. The food is affordable and delicious. The fried squid is a must have for only 10 euros!(Generous portions)

Service is awesome. Food is not. The pizza was nothing to write home about. The saltimboca was so so. Not sure why people are raving.

Attitude is everything. The staff was helpful, friendly, and always smiling on this day that promises Spring. We had Ravioli with fresh tomato sauce and a Pizza with a thin crispy crust all the way to the center. Sparkling water is served in a carafe instead of a plastic bottle. On a Saturday afternoon it was popular with tourists.

The food is good, but not off the charts great. However, and this is a big however, the service is so pleasant and awesome that you need to go. We had a fantastic time under the careful service and King direction of Salvatoro. He helped to make our little girl super comfortable in a rather loud and tightly confined restaurant space. Now, for the food — it’s really a great departure from the vast majority of other«osteria» in Rome. In fact, it truly is a pub-typesetting with a mix of traditional Roman meals made in a bar food manner. It’s a pleasant departure from the pizzeria scene or the traditional trattoria. The location, just far enough off the tourist trap zone of the Piazza Navona, makes it an easy place to find and a refreshing escape from the status quo. It is definitely worth a stop over — before another visit to a pizzeria or trattoria.

This place is a bit difficult to find as it located in a inside street. The food however is one of the best we had in Rome. Their eggplant is anything unlike I have had before. It melts in your mouth. The Pizza and pasta dishes we ordered were also very good. The fried calamari and artichoke are also worth trying. My Kids loved it so much that we went there twice during our stay. Try their Brunello and also the house red. Both excellent wines. The place is small and often crowded. The staff is very friendly and the service is great. Highly recommended.

Quintessential Italian experience in Rome. The pasta was fresh and so tasty my kids kept asking for more. The pizza’s were equally so yummy. My boys were taking their time eating them. The service was very friendly and helpful. For we weren’t only in Rome for only 2 nights we’d be back again and again. Highly recommend…

— Food Quality: Very good, very authentic(bruschetta, fried artichoke, lasagne, carbonara, vegetarian pasta and ravioli) — Waiting time for food: 10 minutes between starters and main. Starters arrived quickly. — Venue: Small but homely place, no need to queue as we booked beforehand — Customer Service: Excellent, would most definitely come again. Waitresses were very helpful and energetic. Offered us shots on the house before we left! — Price: Very reasonable, all the above w/drinks totalled £62

Best casual meal in Rome! We ate there twice. Read about it in the hipster’s guide to Rome. Shut up. I know. This is where I fell in love with Carbonara. The ladies I was with loved the ravioli. We had the Boscaiola pizza both times… Amatriciana was bomb too. Healthy portions. Nothing bad here. We were already hip to gelato by the time we found this place, but they give you free cookies at the end of meal and the service is warm and attentive and the woman who most likely owns or manages the place never stops smiling.

A friend and I came across this place to snack and to take a break. We ordered a bottle of wine and the cheese and meat platter. It was absolutely delicious, and this is coming from someone who doesn’t care much for cheese. And the olives were amazing(I hate olives back in the US). The interior is fairly dark. They reused wine bottles for candle holders, which I thought was very smart. The walls are lined with decorations including real dried peppers/vegetables. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. It was the perfect location for a girls(mid)-night out. It’s a pretty mixed crowd — I saw couples and families with children.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do — which is to eat well and live happy! At Cantina e Cucina, you’ll get the entire Roman experience as this is a welcoming restaurant that has the atmosphere of being invited to a dinner party at a friend’s home. It’s festive and intimate with several people dining at peak hours. But that is the sign of a good restaurant. For big portions and tasty Italian food at very reasonable prices this may be the place for you. Let’s start with the food and it is delicious. The best part is that they provide you with such hearty portions that you really feel like you’re their guest and they just wanted to feed you right. For starters we tried their famous and recommended Crispy Roman Artichoke(5 euros) as well as the French Fries cheesy and peppery(6.5 euros). Then we added the Loren salad(8.50 euros). The Crispy Roman Artichoke was my favorite and it was not oily but still had the robust flavor of artichoke with a crisp outer part. For main courses, we had the Amatriciana pasta as well as the Funghi pizza(both 9 euros). The Amatriciana was very flavorful with pieces of bacon and fresh tomato sauce shining throughout. The Funghi pizza was big enough for two and was cheesy and delicious. Even though we ordered a lot and were completely stuffed, the food all tasted amazing and that says a lot when the food still tastes good and you’re completely full. For beverages, we tried their Italian sodas, the Spuma cola and it was like a more bitter version of Coca Cola. At first it was odd but it eventually grew on me and worked well with the dishes. Finally we ended our meal with their highly recommended tiramisu. It was light, not too sweet, and a very satisfying way to end our meal. I also have to commend our server Monica as she was incredible throughout and was completely attentive and kind. Also, Giuseppe was a fantastic host and always made sure we had what we needed. On the way out, he offered us Italian cookies and hoped to see us again. Great atmosphere all around.
