This place is cool. Came into this area looking for a cheap drink. The staff are extremely friendly, and extremely knowledgable about their menu and the drinks that have to offer. They have a small amount of food that can be offered, but when you have awesome pizza around the corner it doesn’t really matter.

I like going there to read the newspaper or a book. Good Guinness and decent Negroni.

Went out to get a drink around where the owner of the hostel recommended and wandered to this place, which looked like a bunch of locals were there, enjoying themselves. I came with 2 other guests at the hostel and we were seated outside. Our waitress happily notified us that it was currently happy hour, running from 5 – 9:30pm! I got a Moscow Mule and asked what the happy hour price was. Our waitress didn’t really seem to know what she was doing or what happy hour prices were. At least she was cute. One of the other guys was trying to get the red artisanal beer, but they seemed to be out, so he got the other one. She didn’t know what the happy hour price was either, and had to ask. They give free potato chips and popcorn!

Looking for a nice relaxed, not touristy café in Rome, my friend and I stumbled upon Cargo, a café located a bit outside the center of Rome. But the bit of distance is offset by the ambiance of this café/bar. It’s frequented by many locals and the prices are very reasonable for Rome(well, in my opinion). And for the drinks you purchase, you get some free snacks in addition(well, I suppose that might happen everywhere in Italy, but I’m not sure). But to be honest, the atmosphere is what makes this place cool. It’s just a nice place to sit back and relax and enjoy a café.
