Our hotel concierge recommended this place as THE place to get both good pizza and pasta. For me this place was good… But not amazing. My wife and I split a pizza and pasta. Their margherita pizza was tasty and their Cacio e pepe was also good. For me, the restaurant definitely had somewhat of a tourist trap feel. Lots of tourists, no locals. Not sure if it warrants all the hype and glowing review in the Times.

The other evening we wanted to try a new spin on traditional Roman pizza, and we were pleasantly surprised. To start off, we had freshly carved ham along with rice balls which were very flavorful! For the main dish, we had a raw ham and buffalo mozzarella pizza on an organic paper thin crispy crust which was out of this world! The ham was very lean and delicious and the mozzarella was quite creamy! To wrap up, we shared a deconstructed tiramisu and a ricotta cheesecake which were to die for! Emma’s is definitely worth a repeat!

Not sure why everyone isn’t giving this place higher reviews. We arrived right before they closed for the afternoon. Service was funny and relaxed. We were able to taste wine and our waiter helped us with our choices. The stuffed fried zucchini’s were exactly what I was looking for. The pizza was delicious and no there is not better pizza in New York City. Yes perhaps in other parts of Rome and Italy the pizza may better or on par but not New York. Best competition is pizzeria brunetti in the west village. Maybe we were just starving and everything tastes amazing. The white pizza was the hands down favorite. Oh and the pizza tasted just as good cold a few hours later as it did when it came out of the oven. Also — beautiful space down stairs as well as a nice looking bathroom.

We walked over here from the forum to find pizza that would satisfy our urge for a freshly prepared thin crust pizza. This did not disappoint. We each had our own. My daughter had a lonely rendition of a Margherita, while I opted for the rustic buffalo mozzarella and my husband a meat centric version. All three were cooked to perfection. We ordered fails, tall beers that were excellent regional qualities. I should add that we arrived just as the lunch service was about to end, were graciously waited on by both the waiter and manager and never felt rushed. Thank you!

I think I agree with most of the Italian reviewers here. This place is tasty but I found it nothing special — nothing to make sense of the glowing review in the Times. Perhaps this was my fault — I ordered a simple calzone — but for me the best food in Italy was often the simplest. My girlfriend ordered the four seasons pizza and she liked it a lot, maybe if she were writing this she’d give a 4? But for me, a 3.

We tried Emma at recommendation of the hotel concierge. We were looking for a very casual, sit down place with awesome pizza and Emma delivered! Pizza was this super thin crust, with awesome sauce and cheese flavored… best pizza ever!!! We knew we must have been on track as soon as we sat down and realized it was filled with locals and very limited tourists. If your looking for pizza in Rome, Emma is a MUST!

Chic outdoor seating in a nice corner so you are not bothered by constant barrage of pedestrians. Classic thin crust and so good with burrata and any of the other fresh toppings! You should make reservations on Saturday night although we were able to slip in at 7:40 and out by 9 pm without dessert and coffee. Plenty of time for a pizza marguerite and burrata plate for appetizers, pasta amatriciana and pasta Cacia y Pepe. Al dente is earnestly Al dente here. As with all good pasta in Italy, each strand/piece is merged in the flavor of the dish. In the case of the pasta Cacia y Pepe, the wonders of Malaysian peppercorns is a therapeutic eye opening burst! The bits of savory smoky porchetta tantalizes in the slowly cooked complex Amatriciano sugo. We fell in love with sautéed chicory and there are plenty of large tasty vegetable side dishes for vegetarians here as well as a recognition of high quality ingredients. Local and international favorite.

We read about Emma in the NY Times as one of the great places to get pizza, and it was worth the hunt! Absolutely delicious thin crust pizza, with 12 – 20 different choices, beautiful modern interior with skylights, crazy good vegetable sides like broccolini and roasted potatoes. We LOVED it
