Food is decent, but portions are not very big. It’s a classic italian restaurant, very noisy and busy. Service is ok

Very friendly service by Paolo. He is very good with all guests. He speaks English very well and help us to order our foods. He gave us great recommendation also. From start to finish, he was very attentive to us. We started with a small platter of variety of appetizer. Then pasta n then desserts. Everything was tasting great. We r glad that we got to taste this place before going back home. One thing that makes me happy is they have clean bathroom/toilet ;)

We have had a lot of delicious food in Rome but this place tops the list! The pasta carbonara, the seafood pasta, the stuffed squid and the steak with arugula… All delicious! My mom said«I’m going to dream about this pasta tonight.» The service was great — just the right amount of attention and extremely welcoming. They can get a smile out of anybody, no matter how exhausted they are from a day of sightseeing! When we arrived almost every table was reserved! We were lucky to get a spot… Now we have already reserved another table for our last night in Rome. :) I’d suggest calling ahead to reserve your spot!

The food was fine but it bugs me out when they bring something small as if it were for free and then charge you for it(bread in our case). Not so much because it’s a lot of money, it wasn’t, but because they take liberties with my money that I never granted them. I wouldn’t go back.

Bellisimo, or something. The spirit of the restaurant and waiters is great. And the food is an explosion of taste. This great feeling we have after even they missed one of our orders says it all. We leave with a smile. We tasted also a lot of «presents» little bites from things we did not order. It was a great meal and evening.

We ate here the last night in Rome and I am sure glad that we did. If you are looking for authentic Italian food, delightful waitstaff and people who put their heart and soul into their business… you need to go here. I felt like I was a guest in someones home. No menus. No B.S. Just family style authentic Roman cuisine and delightful atmosphere. P. S. the Gnocchi was sooooooooo good.

Why can’t Americans even come close to replicating the friendly, inclusive and generous environment of the delightful Italian Osteria? When one sits down for a meal at Il Ragno d’Oro, one feels as though he or she is dining in a friend’s home. Although we were tourists in Rome, our wonderful waiter Daniele and the extended family that owns and works in this family style restaurant made us feel like regulars, not far from the truth as we returned three times during our eleven day stay. Pastas are made by hand in an open kitchen, sauces are imbued with the divine flavors of Italy handed down over centuries, meats are slow cooked and often steeped in delicious stews until they fall apart without the need for a knife. Steak is grilled just enough to give it a lovely fire imbued flavor while maintaining its rare center. We started every meal with the traditional grilled carciofi(artichoke), one for each of our family of five. I have to admit we loved the tagliolini with truffles so much we ordered it every time to the exclusion of the pizzas for example, but I’m certain they too were exceptional. Creatures of habit we couldn’t finish a meal without ordering the tiramisu. A tiramisu that distinguished itself from all others, with a potent center of real Italian espresso embedded in a light cake and finished with a custard cream so delicate we marveled at every greedy spoonful. I loved this place and so did my family. Should we find ourselves in Rome again soon we will be back!

Arrived here on a Tuesday night around 9PM. The tables looked full and it didn’t seem like they could accommodate my party of 12, but they were able to put together some tables and chairs and fit us in the back. It can get a little busy and noisy inside, but nothing too crazy. At first, we were a little skeptical. Why? Because we felt they were trying to push us to order their appetizers, which apparently are what they’re best known for. But then they started to serve us small dishes on the house. We ordered two appetizers for the whole table, but they gave us two extra dishes for free, because they felt it wouldn’t be enough for a table of 12(and they were right, of course). We got to try some of their risotto and we devoured it. They have a good selection of pastas, pizzas, meats, and seafood. For my first course, I ordered seafood spaghetti. They’re very generous with the squid pieces and with the spaghetti. And none of the clams or mussels were closed(score!) For my second course, I ordered stuffed squid/calamari. The squid pieces were huge and when I cut them open, I was delighted to find shrimps tucked inside! As you can see, I had a huge craving for seafood. And my craving was definitely satisfied, and then some. Collectively, my friends and I tried a good portion of their menu. All of us seemed to enjoy our food. As dinner progressed, the waiters continued to bring us free food every so often. They also started to joke around with us and everyone was enjoying themselves. For dessert, I had pistachio ice cream. The waiter claimed it was the best in all of Rome. I may just have to agree with that. Some of us tried the tiramisu and the different sorbets. They also poured us shots and gave us more dessert at the conclusion of our meal! I’m glad we stumbled upon this place. Everyone’s super friendly and they love Americans!
