Sur les conseils d’un local, nous avons mangé un soir dans ce restaurant. Plats genereux, qui né sont pas là pour faire dans la dentelle, mais c’est tant mieux ! L’accueil et le service sont très chaleureux, et les conseils avisés. Très bonne soirée !

I found this by snooping around Trastevere looking for restaurants serving traditional Roman food without English subtitles. The first time I just looked inside, noting that it was a good prospect. The next day I walked by to see the chef and owner sitting on the stoop playing his guitar. We talked for a minute, then he showed me around. I told him I’d see him at 8. We arrived and were greeted warmly, taken to a table where we sat and were shortly eating good crusty bread and drinking good house wine. My brother and I ate from the cold buffet table — a marvelous octopus salad, several different preparations of eggplant and other traditional delicacies. My wife had a huge plate of tender grilled lamb with lemon and vegetables. The rest had pastas of various kinds, all excellent. The atmosphere was joyous, and the food inexpensive. This is a $$ and not a $$$ as indicated in the other review.
