Authentic Italian food and not at all touristy. Staff was very attentive without being in your face. No service fee. Vegetarian options were available. I had the pumpkin ravioli with sage butter which was amazing! Prices were reasonable.

Recommended by a staff at the St Regis as a authentic, not-touristy, spot close to the hotel. It was delicious! Highly suggest their octopus entrée… great pastas as well.

Very disappointed. Got the rating off Rick Steve’s. Pasta was fine but fish was poorly done and lamb bad as well. Paid 70 Euro for sub Par meal. Don’t make our Mistake!

Excellent ! Found this on Unilocal after the previous night disappointed. Place was great ! No need for reservation. Lots of Americans were here. Maybe they all they all found it on Unilocal?Staff was very courteous spoke excellent English and every table received a little free something at one point or another. The lamb was fantastic! we also have the lobster pasta as well as the pasta with calamari. All very well done. Dress was casual lots of people were wearing shorts and T-shirts… But also some dresses. One guy even wore long pants. The temperature this night was easily between 80 – 90 degrees. The seating outside is a bit limited — kinda like eating in the street… But not bad if you are not in the city in the summer heat.

I searched around for the English menu or the English sign board outside advertising the specials. None. Good. Walk in, and all I could hear was Italian being spoken. Good. Look around, zero tourists except for the two that were with me. Great. The big pork leg next to us waiting to be carved and calling my name. Superb. Good service even for Rome, nice wines, food very good. Just bring some money, drink some wine, enjoy the atmosphere and food, and live a little.

One of the best meals we had during our stay in Rome. Close to our hotel. They were able to fit us in without a reservation. The Veal Saltimbocca was wonderful. Chicken Marsala also great! After the meal the maitre d’ presented my wife with a fresh cut rose!

The people here were friendly, we came at a great time so we didn’t have to wait. The food was good but not fantastic. My meatballs were dry and my friends pasta wasn’t cooked enough, al dente was probably the intent but it was still very crunchy. For the prices we expected better. They did bring out some complementary pastry with potatoes and veggies that was very good before our carpaccio came, and both were amazing.

Ice eaten here a few times over the years. Remains consistently good. Pastas are excellent. Secondis are good. Pricing is good and the servers are kind and helpful.

This is a great Traditional family resturant with the freshest Italian traditional veg shop next door. Small so you need to book, service is fantastic, complementary compliments home made and very tasty. Had pasta and fish and family had lamb. All best we have eaten in Italy. Well priced closed off a great meal.

We just had a fabulous meal at this restaurant. The pasta was very good and my wife and I had seafood(mixed grill and grilled squid as our second). All were delicious and perfectly seasoned. There was a nice mix of locals and foreigners(I wouldn’t say tourists because as this place is near the central bank there are a lot of financial professionals visiting around there).

This place was a great! We found it on Unilocal and had to walk a couple blocks to find it but when we got to the beginning of the street– just look for the bright lights, loud chattering or follow the yummy food scent. They had a very extensive wine list. The wait were attentive and food was brought out at a reasonable amount of time. I had the lobster pasta and was thrilled to have fresh lobster pieces! The only downfall about my dish was that they were still in the shell but at least they were fresh and I was given all of the utensils needed to prey out the meat. I’ll definitely stop by again when Im in the neighborhood!

This was a great find(thanks to the other reviewers for steering me here). We did not have a reservation so we waited about 10 minutes for a table, which ended up being worth the wait. It’s a classy little restaurant with friendly staff and great food. I enjoyed the tuna carpaccio which ended up being a huge portion, all by myself, then I had a very good spaghetti carbonara. I’ve had it three times so far in Rome and this was the best yet. My wife had a lobster pasta which she also enjoyed. I wanted to try the tiramisu but unfortunately my waiter seemed to have forgotten that I asked for it. It was close to closing time so maybe they had run out. Oh well. We did get served a plate of yummy cookies and chocolate covered coffee beans. I would recommend this place definitely. I will come here again if I ever come back to Rome!

Great food, great staff, friendly staff and a wonderful warm feeling as soon as you enter the door. The salads and main meals were terrific, but the deserts were to die for. Try the chocolate moose, fruit tart with a glass of sweet wine. ENZo the waiter is the best! Sandy and Mike

Mediocre at best. We had 4 courses and none of them were good. Not a single local in the restaurant, all tourists. After spending a week touring Bologna, Florence and Tuscany, maybe we were spoiled by consistently delicious Italian food, or maybe this place just isn’t good. I wonder if this ends up being one of the first places people visit upon visiting Italy, so they don’t know what good Italian food should be?

The hotel manager recommended this place for dinner… it was also on our recommedations lists from the travel agency. We thought two high recommendations were enough… they were absolutely right! This place was fabulous. Although, we weren’t disappointed in any of the restaurants we treid in Italy.

This is a fabulous restaurant. My grandson & I struck upon it by chance as it was only 2 blocks from our hotel. We received a small complimentary cheese starter, followed it with pesto spaghetti as a primi which we split, then he had the sea bass & I had the meatballs & beans. What a wonderful meal. We hope to return, especially to try the caprese, which is stacked and looks delicious. [Note: we did come back 3 days later and sadly they were fully booked]. Service — 5STARS Food — 5STARS Ambiance — 5STARS Location — 4STARS BTW, no tap water here; you must buy your water.

Very bad service! 1. We had the wine menu. Me and my wife chose two glasses to order. When the waiter came, I was showing him which one I want and he says«Ya the red one i know» and took the menu away. Didn’t even ask me or my wife which one she wanted; or if she even wanted one. Later, we saw him give bottles of wine to two other tables that came after us and later came back to us after he «remembered». It looked as if he was favoring the natives more than the tourist…(My bad for visiting your country). I finally got my wine and had to tell him«My wife wanted one too». Unfortunately, she got the same kind that I wanted since this guy didn’t bother getting her selection. 2. He took our order AFTER he took the order of the native’s tables that came after us. We saw that he was helping them decide on what to order, but that wasn’t the case with us. Instead, he decided to tell us to order everything now and nothing later because it takes too long to cook. What kind of customer service is that? What if I wanted a 3rd dish… 3. We were ¾th of the way done with our dish and the waiter just took our dishes away ASSUMING we were done rather than asking us. In reality, we were done because the food was just NASTY. 4. After our dishes were taken away, he said«The tiramasu is good» rather than giving us the desert menu. We already knew what desert we wanted so we told him. We had 2 bites left and he took the desert dish away without asking us if we were done or if we want anything else. In conclusion: VERYBADCUSTOMERSERVICETOTOURISTS. They favor their native people only it looks like. Stay away from this place if you want good customer service. The food is okay. We saw two reviews that stated that the food was good and went there, but discovered that the food has no taste. If you are a tastless person who does’t care about customer service, than go here. Else, STAYAWAYSTAYAWAYSTAYAWAY!!!

Some of the best authentic Italian food you will find in Rome. We got reservations(highly recommended as they apparently are always busy) and immediately noticed there weren’t a lot of tourists… great sign! I had the spaghetti carbonara on a recommendation from our waiter. It was the best I ever had. The wine glasses are huge and the prices are very reasonable(mainly because it’s not a tourist trap). We ended the meal with a homemade tiramisu. It couldn’t get any better, highly recommended!

After 8 days of no luck finding an Italian restaurant that serves good food and offers good service w/o ripping us off in Rome, we found La Pentolaccia off of Via Flavia. This restaurant serves excellent Italian food!!! We have come here twice so far, and we plan to visit again. We’ve had the following dishes and they were all excellent: duck — starter, fettuccine & meatballs — 1st course, lamb stew– 2nd course, chicken w/rocket leaves & parmesan, tiramisu. Servers there are very nice and friendly. Prices are also extremely reasonable.
