The good — great location on the market, good chance for street musicians and lively passersby — good service — great black truffle ravioli pasta, recommended — recommended for a good simple lunch or quick drink The not so good — nothing to complain, it is a simple establishment — gnocchi in tomato sauce with shrimp was meh It is a simple place, keep up the decent work

Even the bread is good here! Started with the Pulpo Grigliato al salmoriglio, wow! I’ve never had anything like it. It was grilled and tasted great,(I’m alergic to that stuff but this was so fresh it never bothered me). The Bruschette al pomodoro a basilica had fresh ingredients and had the right amount of oil. Very tasty. Pizze Salmone mozzarella rucola pachino, another very tasty dish, the bread was sweet and thin and was slightly crunchy. Perfect. And a Calzone classico I forgot to get all the ingredients but regardless of it it was also great. I ate here 6 years ago and still remembered the taste. I came here yesterday while on honeymoon for my wife to try it and she loved it. Yes it’s a little pricey but it’s worth it. The ambiance is romantic with fire heaters everywhere(outside setting), musicians out in the middle of the patio playing. The staff was courteous and helpful and can help you in different languages. I highly recommend this establishment. (Tip is included in bill)

We went for breakfast and tried already some restaurants and campo Dei fiori, which were always good but this time we were disappointed. It took the waiter forever to bring us or simple order of juice, café and a croissant. The price for the breakfast was way to high. We know this is a tourist spot but even compared to the other restaurants at the market this was too much. They had plenty of staff members but they were standing around, chatting, smoking and didn’t pay attention to the customers. At the table next to us a guest complained about his omlette. The waiter took it away but didn’t do anything about it. After the guest left very unhappy the staff made visibly fun about him. This is simply highly unprofessional.

We’re in Rome staying at an airbnb very close to the Campo di Fiori so we ate here out of convenience but were pleasantly surprised. We had an amazing Caprese salad– the tomatoes were perfect, grilled Octopus and the Mercato cheese & meat plate. The bread basket was also super yummy but be aware that there is an extra charge(not verbally disclosed). Don’t go out of your way to go here but if in the area, it’s solid.

The last time we were here my daughter and myself had the most fantastic lunch of fried fresh tiny baby squid. A meal so good it became the stuff of myth. So this time in Rome we made a bee-liner for the restaurant in the corner… Big mistake. Should have let the lunch have its mythical place in our pantheon of memorable meals. Not so much a bad experience, just very average for Rome. And I caught the waiter taking the Mickey out of something I’d said. Great location for a drink though… on a child free evening!

Really good food. A bit touristy but one of the best restaurants we ate at in a very touristy area. Service was prompt. Good location for people watching.

I was looking for some quick dinner and a friend recommended this area. It’s in a piazza with just about a million other touristy restaurants and whatnot, but it seems to have a pretty solid selection of a variety of dishes. I played it safe and also wanted something quick, so I got the rigatoni with ham. Solid dish, but nothing spectacular. The guy who was soliciting people into the restaurant wouldn’t stop flirting with my friend though which was a bit unnecessary.

Worst meal of our entire trip. Loved the outdoors area but when push came to shove the wait staff was rude and tried to take advantage of the tourist and below average food. Check your bill closely and laugh at the waiter when he says«service not included.» Rude and inexcusable.

Moderately touristy, placed amid the wonderful hustle and bustle of Campo de Fiori, Mercato makes for a nice(if not amazing) dinner on the town. We were looking for somewhere pretty and relatively cheap on the square, and settled on Mercato. Service was friendly and reasonably quick, and played nice with our horrific Italian. We both got pizza and, while it wasn’t my favorite of the trip, it still Roman and quite tasty. Honestly the real attraction here is staking out a table with a view, sidling up to one of the enormous heaters, and enjoying the night pass by.

Was attracted to the cute red tableclothes lining the tables outside this restaurant in Campo de Fiori square. Great for people watching and taking in the hustle and bustle of the marketplace. Pizza was not overdone, perfectly thin crispy crust with a modest amount of cheese and toppings, yet surprisingly delicious. Don’t think I can ever go back to American pizza after this. My only regret was not getting the fried zucchini flowers(fiori di zucca fritti) that looked absolutely mouth-watering…
