My only disappointment was not finding this spot until our last day in Rome. We stayed nearby at the Regina Hotel Baglioni and found Misticanza for a light lunch. We returned for Breakfast before heading to the airport. The food was fresh(and of course delicious), but the friendliness of the staff put things over the top.

I am an italian who resides in Manhattan and I can be very picky when it comes to food. What attracted me about the restaurant is the combination of styles, modern and in the same time very shabby chic in a balance that makes the environment quite sophisticated. The staff is very welcoming and super nice, the meal arrived pretty quickly. Everything is homemade daily from scratch, the food is very edgy and creative but yet sticks to the traditional notes. Portions size are just right, not too much, not too little! I fell in love with the seafood pasta e fagioli, a must try! I highly recommend Misticanza when you are in Rome! Francesca New York City

I was in Rome for summer vacation and staying a couple blocks away at the Westin Excelsior. The restaurant itself is divided into 2 parts; the bar and the actual restaurant. At the bar, there were sandwiches and desserts. The restaurant had a separate menu. Each of the tables had a unique set of furniture, one even had branches in a little arch above it! The staff was very accommodating, and got us a new waitress, since our original one didn’t speak English very well. All of the food was very fresh. The catch of the day was cooked well, and had a delicious sauce. They brought bread beforehand, and the dessert that I ordered(chocolate and ginger fudge cake) was delicious. It had chocolate sauce inside, so it was more like a soufflé. On the side it had ginger gelato and cookie crumbs. Overall, loved it. My only issue was that the food was a little slow. NOTE: no fancy clothes needed, and be prepared to have some trouble communicating(if you only speak English)
