This hotel is old. Period. I’m not sure what the rates are since its paid for by my tour but it you want spotty wifi broken AC, mold, choose this place. Two stars because they have excellent customer service, but besides that all is bad. Not a four star hotel maybe two stars but probably a one star(hotelish). If I had the option I would not opt For this place. FYI I’m American so this is according to my standards. I feel this place similar to an American motel but without AC. LOL.

Words cannot describe my dislike for the Hotel Nova Dumas. Normally, I only use Unilocal to review potential places to stay but I felt compelled to warn fellow Unilocalers about this one. For starters, the rooms are tiny. They fit a max of 2 people, 3 would make it uncomfortable. The wifi is so archaic that it make this 5000 year old city look modern. Furthermore, friends of ours were staying down the hall and became sick after a few days of what they thought was asbestos. Our shower head did not stand up correctly and made taking showers a chore. In keeping my review completely honest, they did serve a beautiful breakfast however I was distracted by all the other problems that I wanted to get out of the hotel as fast as possible every morning of my stay.

The Nova Domus Hotel & Suites is a hotel situated 5 minutes walking distance from the Vatican — the ideal place to stay if you’re visting Rome. Customer service levels were fantastic from making the booking and calling up to ask questions to checking in, any dealings with staff during our 4 day stay and checking out. Rooms were smaller than we’d hoped and metal shutters on windows were rather complex — we couldn’t work out how to keep them open, on 3rd day we moved to a different room as there were problems with lighting(i.e. not working). Second room was larger and with a balcony. Sound proofing in rooms was good, no external noise was audible. Room temperature was perfect during our whole stay. Restaurant was hit and miss. Large but the seemed unable to cope with demand at breakfast — food ran out often and took ages to replenish. You must visit the bar as the barman is fabulous at making designer cappucinos and cocktails. A tip — make sure you book a taxi in advance if you’re coming from the airport as if it’s not pre-booked it will cost you around 70 Euros instead of 45 – 50.
