One Day Chef

We loved our experience here. We really enjoyed cooking with Mateo. Making the pasta was especially fun and I now feel confident that I can make it again at home. The kitchen is beautiful and professional and it is definitely a memorable experience if you are visiting rome

I have to say this was probably one of the best experiences in Italy ! It’s totally worth the money spent. We made two pasta dishes and a dessert. The main chef is amazing! I can’t say one negative thing about this place.

We had such a fun experience! My husband (who does not cook) and I had a private class with Chef Matteo during our recent trip to Rome. He greeted us with a glass of prosecco, warm bread and salumi to start our class. We learned to make spinach ravioli, pasta carbonara, and tiramisu … all from scratch. I had never made pasta before and was thrilled with the outcome for our ravioli. Can’t wait to make it at home. The carbonara was yummy, and so easy. Chef Matteo showed us how simple, fresh and local ingredients can make delicious dishes. The afternoon came to a close with an espresso to enjoy with our tiramisu. We would highly recommend this experience — the space was clean and well designed; it can accommodate up to 16 people in a class. Kudos to Chef Matteo and his staff for creating such an enjoyable experience. We’ll be back!

My husband and I participated in the pasta making cooking class. It was the best thing we did while in Rome and a memory we will cherish forever. The equipment and space was phenomenal. The lead chef and owner, Matteo, was clear with directions, informative, and very kind. Next time we go to Rome we will definitely come back for another lesson!

My wife and I went to Matteo’s cooking school as a morning activity in Rome. We had seen most of the sights by that time, and so we wanted to take home something besides photos. So we booked this through our concierge and went by cab to the school. We met Matteo and received our aprons, towels and hat (which we took home with us), and we had some Prosecco (I’m probably not spelling that right). Then we made the Tiramisu (which, by the way, we made again last night and it was fabulous!). After the tiramisu we made the dough for the ravioli. Then we made the filling for the ravioli and then made the sauce. The sauce was so simple, I assumed it would not be great. But it was better than I expected containing only tomatoes, garlic and basil. I learned that real Italian cooking does not need to be complex. Next we rolled out the dough and placed the filling inside. We cooked it, and ate it, and wow, was I ever impressed. We came home and put up Ravioli with different fillings in the freezer. In short this was probably the most worthwhile activity we did in Rome. After you’ve had your fill or art and history, fill up on a cooking class that teaches you something you’ll be able to use for the rest of your life!
