I got in late after taking a flight from Milan. I come to Rome 2x a year and my hotel recommended this place. Pizza was just ok. I can find more authentic and better tasting Italian style pizza at home easily. Service was rude, which is not typical for Italy. Not worth wasting your time during your vacation. Go somewhere where they will treat you well so you can really enjoy! If you are looking for delicious pizza in Rome, Dar Poeta — in the old city — is the best pizza I have ever had and worth the cab ride/long walk! Friendly service too.

This place is super tourist-y. Food is average. I ordered risotto and I’m pretty sure they used some sort of jasmine rice(it definitely wasn’t risotto). The pizza my wife got was alright. We’ve had better in Rome for the same price.

This was our first dinner out in Rome and it was great. In the states, Margherita Pizza is simply red sauce, basil leaves, mozzarella, and tomatoes. So I made the rookie mistake of ordering this kind and it’s pretty much just cheese pizza with a sprinkle of basil on it. Still good, but not what I had in mind. My hubby got the buffalini(sp) pizza and enjoyed it. Service was awkward and using a debit card was strange because we had to walk all the way back to the other part of the restaurant and pay at the register. I’d recommend this place to anybody looking to dip their toes in basic Italian Cuisine.

We had a nice meal here on our first night in Rome. We were welcomed warmly and seated quickly, otherwise the service was a bit slow. I was very thirsty and had to ask for water twice before they brought it over(and the waiter basically waved me away like«stop asking» after I asked the second time.) The buffalo mozzarella pizza was good, plenty of cheese and tomatoes on top. I had a pizza that was listed as having broccoli, but it ended up being a green leafy veggie that smelled like broccoli??? Could be the translation that got us confused. It seemed like a lot of locals love this place! If you’re in the area it’s a good place for a decent meal.

Great food and service. The owner is very friendly and makes you feel very welcome. Pizza and pasta were some of the best we had while in Rome. Trust me we are a lot of pizza while in Rome!

My wife raved about this place when she visited last sunmer, but i thought it was barrly mediocre at best. She had on her beer goggles and must have been hungry from a long flight. Very mediocre food and bad wine list too.

I was twice in this restaurant with my family. Here I tried spaghetti Bolognese in the first time and the second time-risotto with sea food(mussels, little necks, shrimp…)The food was really good, was delicious. The service was ok. The prices are normal isn’t so expensive. I recommend this restaurant!

We were trying to get dinner at ‘Dilla(also great) but they were packed so we got a reservation for the following evening. We asked the waiter for a pizza place recommendation and he directed us to Ciro. Ciro is packed with locals. We got a Margarita pizza and a pizza with ham and mushrooms to go, the manager who took our order was super friendly. While we waited for our pizzas(very briefly!) we peered at the different foods being served around, they carve fresh prosciutto and meats, and have huge bats full of wonderful burrata. Everything looked delicious, Arancini being passed around with pomodoro looked great. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for good food near Centro Istorico that isn’t one of those awful overpriced tourist traps with crummy food

My first pizza since I came to Italy. The ingredients was of good quality and the spicy salami was incredible! We landed late, but our hotel Inn Spagna called and asked the guys at Ciro if they could let us at eat and it was apparently no problems. The service was also really good and even if I do not know average prices in Rome this felt affordable. With pizzas around 10 €.

Although this looked touristy, my mom really wanted to eat here– she had seen it on some Korean website. For me, the food was just OK, but my parents seemed to enjoy their food. The service was excellent with a lovely and personable gentleman waiter who was attentive and even joked with my parents. HOWEVER, once our meal was finished our lovely waiter turned into a scam bucket. Our bill came out to 80 euros and we paid with one 50 bill and two 20 bills. Waiter wouldn’t give us our change. I asked for the change and he started talking very quickly in Italian about how service wasn’t included. OK fine, I argued, but you still have to give me my change so I can determine tip, you can’t just take my money. He says, «Ok ok ok,» and then more Italian, and he gives me 2 euros. I say«No, the change is 10.» He then argues that he gave me 2 back and if I was going to give tip then why does he have to give me the rest(I assume, in Italian, which he knows I don’t speak very well and oh by the way he speaks English almost perfectly until it’s scam-the-tourists time). Now we’re arguing in the middle of the street with this guy physically refusing to give me my money back because he thinks I’m not going to give him tip and he thinks he’s entitled to just tip himself. I left because people were starting to stare and my parents were feeling uncomfortable; I’m still mad at myself for letting this waiter steal my money. I hate him for giving my parents the impression that all Italians are scam artists.

Excelente restaurante. Muito bem servido, preço justo! A comida é bem gostosa e o dono, um senhor, fica monitorando todo o funcionamento do restaurante. Ainda passa um vídeo sobre como são feitas as coisas, muito legal.

Great food, environment, and service. I was walking back to my hotel with my family and we decided to stop here for dinner. The waiters were very friendly and accommodating. We were originally seated near where they bring out food from the kitchen, but a table cleared up so we asked to move. This was after plates and utensils had been brought out for us already, but the waiter still readily helped us relocate. We ordered the following: Capricciosa pizza– Definitely recommend! Lasagna– pretty standard Tutto pranza cappricciosa(large mixed salad) — Comes with tuna. Also pretty standard Linguine al cartoccio(mixed seafood linguini) — GREAT! Linguine all’astice(lobster linguini) — good! Desserts: tiramisu Needless to say, this was the best meal we had in our vacation to Italy. Reasonable price for a great meal in a friendly environment. :-)

The food is pretty good here. The service isn’t that friendly but I’d ignore that. The prices were really good. For a pasta(which was good but swimming in oil, like I mean they used a 1⁄3 a bottle), a pizza, a salad to share, and some water and wine the tab only came to 26 €. Personally I would try to order a lighter pasta and/or pizza and the rocket salad with parmeggano flakes.

Yum, yum, yum!!! The Husband was googling restaurants near our hotel and Ciro popped up. Of course I Unilocaled it and then decided we should definitely try it out. We were seated in the covered patio. Although the restaurant was fairly empty, the canopy supports for the patio can require some maneuvering when getting to your table. The Husband ordered the Fettucini a la Ciro and I had the Spaghetti a la Bolognese. Let’s just say the Husband’s meal prompted many people who arrived later try to figure out what he was eating. The Husband stated it was the best meal he had during our European spring vacation. The only way I can describe the food I had was nice and light. It was the first time I had pasta and didn’t feel stuffed. Maybe it’s the sauce or the pasta, I don’t know. All I know is it was good and want more. The service was good and I recommend dinner at Ciro.

Restaurant horrible. Nul nul nullllllllllllll

Restaurant near piazza navona(off one of the smaller streets). Food was good, prices same as everywhere(10 – 14 for pasta dishes), sodas pricey(like everywhere in Rome). Alcohol they had happy hour specials(€ 5 for the Apperol spritz drink, tasted good!). We also had some wine, and the waiter was very helpful in giving suggestions. Pasta dish and lasagna were tasty. Good portions.

Now this p;ace is yummy! It was so good we went back a second time on our visit to Rome & we will return on our next visit. We only had a few things but the pizza #4(or #5) with mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, basil and EVOO was fantastic. The Carbonara & Bolognees were also very good and the service was great! The owner(or Maitre D’) remembered us and greeted us with a big amico di benvenuto and to me that’s part of the charm… Go give it a try!

Although this place isn’t fancy or upscale, it does serve quality italian food for a reasonable price. Seems like both locals and tourists frequent this spot. We went here on our first night in Rome on the recommendation from our hotel, and it ended up being one of my favorite meals in Rome. The three of us ordered a the pizza with spicy italian sausage, and added buffalo mozzarella instead of the regular mozzarella. It was exactly what I came to Italy for! Although my friend wasn’t very fond of it because it was a little soggy, it is what I imagine real italian pizza to be. Very thin crust, and VERY flavorful — drooooool! In addition to the pizza, we also shared a plate of their special pasta that night which was pappardelle with mushrooms. The mushrooms were«fancy» ones, and quite delicious! The portions are also huge. I highly recommend! Reasonable prices and no reservations needed.

I was a bit hesitant to eat here as it seemed very touristy/they had big screen TVs on the walls showing them making the pizzas which made me think I was walking into some over-rated tourist trap, however, a local recommended the pizza so we had to give it a shot. I went in with low expectations, however was pleasantly surprised with their pizza. Definitely one of the best neopolitan pizzas we had while in Italy– all of the ingredients were fresh, crust charred slightly-to perfection in the wooden oven and the buffalo mozzarella was delicious– seriously, you must ask for it to be made with the buffalo mozzarella! Overall, very good pizza, not the best I ever had(sorry Italy, but Brooklyn, NY steals the pie in the best pizza department in my opinion).
