Part of the REBasilico groups, with 4 venues in Rome, this one is located inside of the Lanciani Sporting Club. Like the other places, their specialty is the Neapolitan pizza, and I must say it’s really good. However, I can not say the same about the service. I was driving by it on the way to a meeting and I needed some quick lunch. Without much choice in the neighborhood I have stopped thinking the sporting club had some sandwich to eat quickly, but the only option was to take away a pizza. I said ok and without even looking at the menu I ordered a mushroom pizza, which is pretty classical. It turned out that the waitress wrote on my order a porcini pizza with a note to change the porcini with regular champignons, and therefore I have first been asked to pay a quite high amount of money. Surprised by it I took a look at the menu and saw that a pizza with mushrooms, ham and parmesan costed 1 euro less than what I paid, so I asked how comes I have paid such a high amount if they did not give me the extra ingredients! And also it was a take away, so I didn’t use the table, plate, fork… it should have been cheaper. The manager at the ed gave me back 50 cents saying they used a more expensive kind of cheese(which I have never asked for). I left since I was in a hurry and did not want to argue, but definitely not happy about the service nor the management. I will have to be back here next week for a scheduled dinner with colleagues, so I’ll see again with a real sit-down dinner, but my opinion on this place will hardly get better. I’m sticking with the 3 stars: 4 for the food quality, and 1 for the service.
