The best meal I experience in over two weeks in Italy! The wine was amazing as was the food. I enjoyed the meat and cheese play of the day as well as the pasta all’amateiciana and both were beautiful. I highly recommend this place off the beaten, tourist mobbed, path in Rome.

My husband and I had dinner here last night. We didn’t want to dine at a tourist trap. We followed a path further down from the usual joints and came across SEC. The place was empty apart from a table of italian ladies. The waiter was polite and attentive. He emphasised the freshness of ingredients. He wasn’t wrong. We had the spaghetti with shrimp, zucchini and tomatoes, penne arrabiata, and a margherita pizza. Hands down the best italian we’ve had. The sauce was tasty, light and didn’t need any parmesan cheese whatsoever. We also had grilled vegetables which were charred to perfection. As full as we were, we had to try the homemade strawberry tiramisu. This place makes their own ladyfingers. We’ve come back today for lunch to try their lasagna as they ran out yesterday. If you want authentic italian, simple and tasty with fresh ingredients and without the hustle and bustle of tourists, dine here. You won’t regret it!

The Sec is not just about football folks! Our visit to Sec was a a delicious experience. Off the beaten path, Sec can be found on a quiet street just northwest of Piazza Navona. The food is very fresh and well prepared with precise plating. This restaurant specializes in unique ingredients like Truffles(with pasta or bruschetta) with a focus on seasonal offerings, the menu is prepped daily. They mentioned that fish is not served on days when it is not fresh so quality is #1 focus. We had the steak prepared perfectly and son had pizza prepared from scratch. Outstanding on both counts. The daily special of homemade pasta with black truffle was also a highlight. Tiramisu reminded me of some we had home cooked by a family in a villa in Tuscan region several years back, great memory. The waiter was very attentive to us and was there any time we needed her, an Italian at heart with authenticity. Prices are reasonable for the amazing food quality. The atmosphere is top notch with great art and modern/clean surroundings. I recommend anyone in Rome visit this must try restaurant with a feel of real Italy without the tourism. On our 15 day trip through Europe, this was memorable. I have visited over 20 countries and am a picky eater, trust me… This is worth your trip!
