Arrived at 7 to discover the dinner menu begins at 8pm. Ordered all five small plates from the bar and a bottle of champers. Seated at a sidewalk table we enjoyed a lovely evening in Roma. Seemed like moments later and every table was filled. Aside from a pair of American touristi(us), the only language spoken was Italian. After having fun mispronouncing nearly every menu item, Andrea, the owner, asked if we speak English and then directed us to vegetarian choices on the dinner menu. Limited selection, but everything is locally grown, prepared and served. Incredibly delicious. Love the hand written wine list. And the hand made pasta. Just ask for assistance with any wine — most in the € 10 – 24 range. A wonderful roman experience. My date suggested it was also quite romantic. Gotta go!

It is well known for those who know me that I am a bit of a wino, I could drink wine every day for the rest of my life and be perfectly happy about it! But of course with so much wine drinking you learn to differentiate between types of wine, regions, vintages and what not. Of course I have found my favorites, which to be honest are a bit obscure(German reds! To die for!) So we just moved near Piazza Bologna and found this little place that is tucked under a building between an office and a pet groomer, you might not think much of it by looking at it but go inside and you will discover a treasure cove full of all the wine you could wish for, and delicious food! Now the wines are very carefully curated and you can tell by the varieties they carry, I found a gorgeous red wine from the northern Italian border! And the price was really accessible too! The food is really nice, they have a small menu but there is always something for everyone. The pasta dishes and the meat are especially good! The owner of the place knows her stuff and will happily share some thoughts with you! Pro tip– ask the owner for a recommendation on wine according to your taste and budget ! And if on menu, try the tagliata di manzo, scrumptious!
