Auf den Weg zu unserer Ferienwonung kamen wir immer wieder an die große Werbung für die Trattoria vorbei und dachten, nun schauen wir mal rein. Wir waren recht früh da und daher die ersten Kunden. Man sagte erst, wir könnten uns hinsetzten wo wir wollen aber die zweite Dame hat uns dann umgesetzt.
Auf der schönen Terasse findet man viel Platz. Für bestimmt über 120 Gäste. DIe Einrichtung ist originell gemacht. Jeder Tisch wurde aus einen alten «Singer”-Nähmaschinengestell hergestellt.
Unsere Bedienung war leider nicht so nett. Schade eigentlich, das vermießt den einen Stern.
Das Essen war sehr gut. Der Panzanella der Hammer die Pasta auch sehr gut.
Die Preise sind ok, obwohl nicht ganz so günstig für die Menge.
Im Ganzen ein ordentliches Lokal!

We had one of the best meals of our lives today at Sor Paolo! We stopped by the historical and gorgeous hotel and restaurant on our way to Siena. My boyfriend and I shared a true Tuscan meal with delicious wine, plethora flavors of crostinis, pastas, and grilled pollo! We ordered so much food, and we managed to completely cleared all the plates! If you are in the area of Florence /​Siena, this is a MUST! The owners are so sweet and friendly! We feel so fortunate to be able to share this foodie experience. Now I will be day dreaming about the creamy fresh pastas, savory chicken liver crostini, moist crispy skinned chicken, and the sweetest wines!
Thank you Mario and his wife for giving us a beautiful and delicious start to our Tuscan vacation! We will be back soon!

One of my favorite meals during my recent visit to Florence was at Trattoria di Sor Paolo. Our tour guide, Vittorio, from Italy and Wine brought us here for lunch. Trattoria di Sor Paolo is located in San Casciano in Val di Pesa, a small province in the Chianti region, outside of Florence. The restaurant is located away from the touristy sights of Florence so the majority of diners are locals instead of tourists.
Our tour guide ordered for our table and we were treated to a delicious spread of Tuscan treats. Our lunch included the local chianti wine, crostini with chicken liver pâté, white Tuscan beans, and tomatoes, Pappa al Pomodoro (Tuscan tomato and bread soup), and Pappardelle al Ragu Di Cinghiale (fettuccine with wild boar ragu). The dishes were so simple, yet so delicious! The high quality, fresh ingredients stood out on their own in Sor Paolo’s traditional Tuscan dishes.
If you are in the San Casciano in Val di Pesa area I highly recommend dining at this wonderful restaurant!

Es sind mehrere Punkte, die mir hier besonders positiv auffielen: der freundliche Empfang, der ausgesprochen liebevoll eingerichtete Gastraum (zB wurden die Unterbauten vieler alter Nähmaschinen zu Tischen umgebaut oder der Boden eines Raumes mit antiken Fliesen gestaltet), die nette Bedienung, die Qualität und Vielfalt der Zutaten und dass man dabei vorwiegend lokale Lieferanten hat (zumindest hat man mir das erzählt und es klang absolut glaubwürdig) und der Geschmack des Essens. War zweimal dort und jedesmal sehr zufrieden. Tip: das gegrillte Hühnchen, Diavolo-​Style würzig, saftig (aus der Farbe u Beschaffenheit des Fleisches lässt sich schließen, dass das Tier nicht aus Massentierhaltung stammt). Oder der grüné Salat: besteht der in Deutschland idR aus ein oder zwei verschiedenen Blattsalatsorten, so waren es hier etwa 10 oder mehr, und Rucola war davon noch der gewöhnlichste. Ein tolles Geschmackserlebnis! Preislich im Durchschnitt für die Gegend oder leicht drunter.
