Best meal in Florence!
A visit to Trattoria Ponterotto is like a visit to grandmother’s house. The restaurant is cozy and inviting and the food is delicious and made from scratch. We would never have discovered this wonderful gem if our wine tour guide Vittorio had not taken us here during our Italy and Wine tour in the Chianti region.
Vittorio selected local dishes so we could experience an authentic Italian lunch. We started off our meal with a plate of local cheese, prosciutto and salami. This was the best cheese and charcuterie I have ever eaten! He also ordered bruschetta with Tuscan (Cannelloni) beans drizzled with extra virgin olive oil. For our meal he ordered a hearty bean soup that was also phenomenal. We enjoyed lots of Chianti with our meal and finished the meal with an espresso.
