Great location on the piazza, excellent coffee and Sicilian sweets. The Bocconcini Casarecci were hearty sandwiches for our toddlers.

I have always really liked this place. It has a great location, right in front of the duomo, it serves nice food and good coffee, but they do not jack up the prices like some places in front of other Italian duomos. I go here every time I am in Ortega.

Never has a restaurant had the opportunity to deliver a beautiful dining experience because of it’s location, but failed to deliver on anything that remotely is memorable or worthy of mention. A totally DISRESPECTFUL experience. DONOT give this restaurant your hard earned Euoros. I am not one to ever comment negatively on my experiences. I am a typical Brit who by nature accepts things for what they are, but I draw exception in this case. The location of this restaurant could not be more perfect as it overlooks the square and the Duomo. Scenically perfect. One could get over pretty much anything. However. ;). The respect for the customer that this restaurant exhibits is downright offensive. I visited this business together with my mother, because it just seemed so beautiful, right on the square with wonderfull live music in the background, which was played by classical musicians in the square(not associated with the restaurant) Yes I expected a certain ‘cheese factor’ and perhaps a little ‘tourist’ treatment. But NOT the level of total dismissal that I received. I ordered three courses for myself the primi, salad and secondi. My mother ordered just a simple pizza. After a 30 minute wait my mother received her pizza, I still received nothing. 30 minutes later I received my salad. 1 hour later I received my secondi plate. My first course had been completely forgotten. I raised the issue with the waiter who seemed completely nonchalant. I therefore cancelled my order. I may also add the restaurant was not exceptionally busy. It was a Tuesday night in September. There were empty tables. Now I understand it’s a restaurant ., shit happens. I have no problem with orders being wrong. But it is how you are dealt with after the fact that matters. No one cared, no one apologized, no one tried to make right. I am spending good money in their establishment and yet I felt no consideration whatsoever. They do not deserve your business and your hard earned money. There are a number of other restaurants on the square. I cannot speak for their service or the level or RESPECT you will receive. But I can tell you that your business to this restaurant means NOTHING. Avoid this place like the plague. Vote with your boots. As the saying goes. The only way this establishment will respect the value of its customers is with posts like this. So please be warned. What should have been a perfect and beautiful experience was reduced to a distasteful one. There are numerous restaurants available in the immediate area give them a try before this one. I do not write a review like this lightly. I get no pleasure in it. But I have to report that I was not respected as a valued customer and the service was just wrong. And that my friends is what it is all about. Eat there at your own risk.

Hard to find a better place for a café or restaurant than in the heart of Siracusa, next to the Duomo and on one of the most beautiful squares in Italy. This is not taken fully care of by the owner. Everything is good enough, but in the middle of the scale. Having a coffee, though, watching the beauty around you is fully recommended and something that will last in your memory.

Ate here for lunch. Probably a few Euros more expensive than other places but the view was good. Good house win, pizza, and salads.

sehr lausiger Service.
