The Ashbee

The staff was excellent, from the team at the front desk to the waitresses at breakfast. Everyone was kind and very attentive. But I expected more from this property. From the photos I expected something more comfortable and appealing, like a traditional grand hotel. What we found was a little beaten down hotel, with rooms that weren’t particularly well furnished nor even handsome. Outdoor furniture already showing signs of wear and tear. A shame for a new hotel. Our room was small, cramped and cheaply decorated. Yet it did have a comfortable bed, but the room had no creature comforts. Though the bathroom was well thought out and quite adequate. Our room did have a spacious balcony, which unfortunately we were not able to enjoy due to thunderstorms. Breakfast was served on the top floor, which afforded lovely views of the ocean bellow. What was served was quite good and satisfactory. But by far the best part of the Ashbee is its staff, view and location.

Ashbee Hotel Taormina
Ein kleines 5-​Sterne-​Hotel in Taormina, das 2 Gehminuten von der Porta Messina und damit des Corso Umberto I entfernt liegt. Im Hotel hat man absolute Ruhe und trotzdem ist alles (auch der Trubel) nur 5 Minuten entfernt. Die Lage ist optimal, wer zum Meer will, nimmt eben die Seilbahn. — Die Zimmer sind nicht riesengroß, aber einige verfügen über einen Balkon, der fast genauso groß ist wie das eigentliche Zimmer. Die Einrichtung ist geschmackvoll und nüchtern. — Das Hotel hat zur Meerseite einen kleinen Garten mit kleinem Pool, der maximal der Abkühlung dienen kann. Die kleine Bar bietet richtig gute Kleinigkeiten aus der Küche des angeschlossenen Restaurants St. George. — Das Frühstücksbüffet ist für die Größe des Hotels erstaunlich vielfältig und extrem hochwertig, ohne luxuriös zu sein. Wer Lachs und Kaviar sucht, ist hier nicht richtig. Stattdessen gibt es feine italienische Küche. — Der Service: durchweg klasse. Sehr freundlich, fix und ohne Aufgesetztheit. Richtig nett.
