Wow, incredible pizza from a wood fired oven. There is a pile of wood right outside the door. Had a great meal there.

Called in yesterday for a quick bite to eat and thoroughly enjoyed it, Some of the staff looked miserable but it’s the way they look but they work very efficiently. Would definitely go back to eat again

Probably the best pizza in Taormina with proper wood oven and good prices. Tucked away in an alley its hard to spot, but once you see it its worth going in. Pizza in excellent, and well priced compared to some of the other tourist traps in town. Had the diavola that was proper hot and a good vegetarian pizza. Nice outside sesting area in an alley.

Tucked away in an alley lies a charming Italian restaurant that serves great pizza and the most amazing eggplant pudding. It’s like lasagna but better.

Don’t be fooled. This restaurant may open up to Corso Umberto so you might think it’s nothing but tourist fare. You’d be wrong. The back alley tables are nice and the pizza is delicious. My wife had the restaurant’s namesake — a pizza with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella di bufala, and basil. I had the night’s specialty pizza(pizza inverna) with mozzarella, a local cheese, spinach, and a local sausage. Wow! These were excellent pizzas and the wait staff were very friendly. The rates were reasonable as well — these 2 pizze, bruschetta, a half carafe of red wine, and water for € 39, including coperta.

While on vacation, I used my handy Unilocal app to find a hidden gem in a touristy city. Taormina is filled with restaurants and I was overwhelmed on where to go on our first night. We were taken care of and treated amazing here at Vecchina! It’s quaint, amazing service and he had one of the best meals actually in our two weeks in Sicily. Items we loved, Octopus Carpaccio, Caponata and the pizza(and a bottle of grillo to wash it down!)… I would to go back right now and have this exact meal. Mmmmm!!!

Hidden gem. The pizza is simply amazing! The staff American friendly and the prices are very reasonable. One pie easily serves two. Lots of seafood on the menu. Free wifi!
